We should win both games which would take us to 6 wins for the season which most people here at the start of the year would have taken. 8-10 wins next year should be the next goal. Baby steps.

What have I let myself in for? I obviously did it because I stupidly thought we could win there against the lions.

What player/ players have I jinxed that will end up with career ending injuries playing on that god forsaken surface.

I don't agree. This attitude is part of the mire that we're in. Roos' comments on the weekend about the players slipping back into our old habits of 'woe is me' and 'this is too hard' and 'we're just not good enough' are perfect examples of that.

It may be meaningless in the context of 2014, but I think losses in these games will hurt our mental make-up. Going into the summer, if we can beat these two sides and remind ourselves 'yes, we were better than them this year' we can take some improvement out of the year and a skerrick of positivity into the off-season. Lose, and the players, for all their hard work and obvious gains this year, may not be able to fully realise how far they've come, instead of focusing on the fact that, in the end, we couldn't even beat Brisbane or GWS.

I am sorry that you feel my view that we have a bad list is an 'attitude' and not a statement of sad fact - but we have about 14 AFL standard players on the list right now and some of them are out of form...

They bashed psyche of the players is concerning and affects performance but when comparing lists with other teams - our talent is potential talent and our AFL ready players are few and far between.

Perhaps I am being foolishly optimistic, but I think Jesse Hogan will do a lot for our structural competency. Pushing players where they will be most efficient (for the most part), most certainly keeps Dunn out of the forward line.

Edit - Ultimately I think the above can help us secure at least a win.

We'd have to hope they missed a lot of goal kicks again. Especially after the way they dismantled Collingwood on the weekend. I was hoping for a much better second half of the season ALA some of the years Neale Balme coached MFC and the return or commencement of Jesse Hogan.It appears I was sadly mistaken. The disaster that Casey has become and the return of the couldn't care less or we're no good attitude of many players will make it unlikely we will win any further games at all. Until there can be a sustained culture change we are doomed to be cellar dwellers for many years to come.

I don't, when we've beaten Essendon we've always played them at the right time.

Essendon play like a premiership for the first 5 rounds and the last 5 rounds of each season, in between that they're a bottom 4 side.

Someone from the club rang me up out of the blue a few weeks ago, offering a reserved seat to one of the games (forget which one). I declined, mainy as I like the flexibility to choose my own seat.Perhaps they just offer a certain number of members this each week?

Our form has been so bad lately that you could be forgiven for thinking we will struggle to win even 1 of them.

We need to win them both , and win them well.

We 'need' to win them both? Maybe I am too fastidious about the definitions of words but there is no need to finish on 6 wins as opposed to 5 or 4.

Wins over those lowly teams will not propel us toward any grand future, nor losses diminish our already terrible season (although relatively speaking this season is a comparative success to 2013...).

Winning those games would be just great, but those results are irrelevant to where we are at and what Roos and Jackson must do.

I am in the Roos camp - I would love to see us win but what I definitely need to see is a return to the pressuring and hassling we had for a good period after the Eagles debacle.

The last two weeks havent been good enough in terms of how we have pressured the opposition ball carriers bringing the ball into their forward 50.

So which would I take - 2 more wins and the balance being performances like we dished up for the first half of Saturday or no more wins but bring the intensity we did against Port Adelaide for 3 and half quarters for all the remaining games. I know which I would take.

edit - having said that - if we bring the same intensity we did against the Power for 4 quarters then we are likely to win games anyway.

There is no way those soft 'co'k-a-doodle-don'ts' could rise earlier enough, even on their best day, to crow over us... they would need the geriatric 'JBrown'; & the 'Orange Roughie' both playing, & they still couldn't beat a drum.

Rockliff has shown he's drinking his own urine these days... & what, will mahloney & Moose McGuire damage us , they may as well join the VFL now.
