Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Already have heard stories of some anger and bitterness from those at yesterdays game. Sad and a pity really, I suppose supporters must be feeling totally shattered. Many are still, still in denial over scenarios as played out.

Hnmm interesting times ahead.

You weren't sitting in the middle of thousands of them.

I reckon they are almost the dumbest supporter group to be honest. Calling for a free every 7 seconds of play was too much after the 1st quarter. Don't know why we stayed there. Glad we did.

I was in the AFL members yesterday smack on the wing and about 5 bays to our right around the old Bay 13 a massive brawl erupted in the last quarter. I couldn't really see what was happening as I was too focused on the game but apparently a security guard was trying to separate the guys and a woman got involved and hit the security in the head. Did anyone see this? It was amongst Bombers supporters so not sure if it was a Bomber and Demon going at it or two Bombers supporters.

Probably wouldve paid to see 2 bombers go at it.

Well in the 3rd quarter at least.

I was at a pub in Canberra with one watching, He was pretty smug before the game saying that they would smash us because of the previous weeks events and having everything to play for.. He was so proud of his club he was wearing a red and black band around his wrist (that his daughter made, those stupid rubber things) and that was it.. I was in my Melb polo, hoodie, scarf etc...

I may have mentioned they may as well go out with a bang because itll be the last game many will play for a while, He responded with saying that he would give me a 40pt lead and they will still win..

I refused because i wanted to win fair and square..

He had kittens when Watts kicked the goal in the last and almost walked out.. Then when the needle dodger kicked two in a row.. he was standing up pointing and laughing calling me a choker..

It was quite a nice afternoon especially with 19 seconds to go. (i may have been watching through my fingers as the kick sailed thru)

Bombers supporters, like the club itself, are very good at fighting amongst themselves.

Like Carlton supporters they have a misguided belief that they are still the best in the competition even though they have done nothing for the last 13 years (and Carlton nothing for the better part of 2 decades). I look forward to them having another couple of decades in the wilderness so they are nothing more than glorified Richmond supporters.

I may be the odd one out - having watched live footy for the best part of 40 years I reckon every team has it's share of horrific supporters.

Its probably a case of which supporters we are exposed to the most - in my case, I have seen the arrogance of Carlton supporters over the years purely because I know so many of them.

I was very embarrassed by the behaviour of Melbourne supporters in the 2000 GF (I was sitting in amongst a large group as I got tickets through the club) after Michael Long took out Simmonds.

Every thing for them is holding the ball. Yet when Essendon players have time to spin, bump or throw an elbow before getting tackled it's a ball up???

Actually felt sorry for a guy the row in front of me. Was there with his young family and a mate. The mate and him had a discussion pregame about his tips - he'd tipped Melb. And his mate convinced him to get on his phone and change the tip!

Then I probably scarred his little girl yelling as Kent ran in to goal, go Kenty, go your gun Kent, go you little Kent, come on you fast Kent!

Tell you what though how good was it when the ump disrupted a piece of play for them!

il tell you that living in essendon means that i hate essendon supporters with a passion and for the most part i hate most other teams opinions on the melbourne football club and players involved. but i also hate listening to people that i sit near at melbourne home games constantly berrate watts, dunn, bail and multiple other players. so i guess its all teams

that said, nothing sweeter than beating essendon and being able to win by 1 point when they hammered us by 148 last time is so sweet.

this match also reaffirmed to me how good essendons midfield is but the lack of players who standout in defense and up forward is why the team is struggling (much the same as richmond)

All part of the gameplan - Roos saw we were in a bit of a pickle so got one of the runners to don the green vest and run on to the field - no one was the wiser

Anyone with a shred of sympathy for those pricks never stood in the outer at Windy Hill.

Vic Park and Carlton were picnics.

I was out there, as a guest, in the early 80's among the Essendon members. At half time they were spitting on and abusing their own players as they came up the race.

Amazing experience.

I have to say the bombers fans around me were all pretty good and no one was mouthing off. Mainly families though. Given how loud i was was pleasantry surprised no one had a shot at me (though i didn't bag bombers). I had a similar experience against Tigers.

The worst i have had this year was a [censored] head Swans supporter (a straight looking dude with his teenage son) who right from the get go decided that every time i yelled anything he would yell some idiotic response. When Franklin got that super soft free kick i yelled out that with the money he was being paid he didn't need any charity. A pretty mild joke i would have thought. When Franklin got a goal a bit later he yelled 'do you have any more jokes"? I wanted to trot out the old chestnut that a a decent team would be 10 goals up but i figured that would be bagging the dees. Smug and insufferable.

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
