Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Some guys play through pain and some just refuse to, I think Dress fits Dawes perfectly.

and some guys injure themselves beyond repair. How the heck do you know how much pain Dawes or anyone is in. More armchair toughness.

I find it hard to take anyone like yourself serious when people like you backed Cameron Schwab to the last day he was in power, similar to Robbie F you have NFI about football some guys like Stynes play through pain and guys like precious Chris cant the guys a spud and that's why the pies off loaded for a pick in the 20s.

I'm sure my so-called backing of Schwab is highly relevant to issues of playing through pain. You love bringing it up almost every time you-respond to a post of mine. As if being wrong on that issue means my opinion on everything is worthless.

But the real pity is I never particularly supported Schwab, I merely pointed out when you were speculating and making statements in an arrogant manner.

You do realise the fitness staff stop guys playing with tightness yet alone actual soft tissue injuries so they don't progress. Even with his massive ability to recuperate and play through pain Jimmy wouldn't have played all those games in a row.

Calf and hamstring injuries aren't pain that can be played through.

If you're attacking Dawes at least do it correctly

Has no one heard about the clubs no risk policy?

The club wont play players that are under done - its risk management

Maybe thats why these guys aren't playing...

You don't know what he is, or isn't, going through.

And when those three you mentioned did a calf - they wouldn't play, no matter how much you misremember and glorify the recent past.

Oh, and calling someone [censored] weak for missing games through injury is pretty [censored] weak.

RFPC - you will never win an argument with an ignorant person. So don't bother responding to the troll.

Stynes played with broken ribs Dawes is a [censored] and you guys can't accept it at least Mitch could play , Dawes is a skirt that can't play and refuses to because of minor niggles, but I'm sure he doesn't hobble to the ATM every Friday to collect his massive salary.

I find it disgusting that you call yourself a Melbourne supporter. The tripe you type is repugnant at best.

Im amazed that i got a warning point for saying someone should run through Mclean, after he lagged in the club, and others get away with crap like this.

By the way do warning points ever lapse?

Coaches will not let players who are not well play it is not a matter of how tough but how long they will be out for if the do more damage. Dawes and Mitch have injuries that they will recover from in time. In the meantime we are still putting 22 players onto the field who need to play to the best of their ability. it gives some other players a chance to play now with a much better midfield than we had last year.

Haha so that's the standard, if you can't play with a punctured lung you're soft, plenty of players need some harden up juice then

you seriously have no freaking idea so just shhhh :)

Oh wow you have reached a whole new level of silly, you also have zero flags... hahaha, and we aren't comparing the Hawks to us, we are talking about your idea of what's tough and what's not, then you throw in a totally inaccurate insult thing because you don't know what else to say, and i'm sure they are, but i'm also sure they're mindful of the fact that injuries happen and they're noones fault.

i am certain if a bloke had a punctured lung in 2014 there is no way they'd let him play on even if he wanted to or not, but that's irrelevant it's insane to say you're soft if you don't play on with a punctured lung, that means you're just freakishly tough, which not many people are.

also for the record i earn very good money, don't accept low standards but i'm not a total idiot who expects way too much of people.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
