I remember the hawks playing this style early in Clarksons coaching career and they turned it over early on but as they played that way more their skills improved and the rest as they say is history.

Hopefully we can do the same.

Jared Rivers at Melbourne - asleep on the mark during regular season games

Jared Rivers at Geelong - pushing right over the mark cramping kicks (should've been 50 though) in preseason games.

With 14 mins to go,

Cross 30, Tyson 27, Cross 26.. shows why we got them, and they are at least finding the pill. Our balluse will improve, Looking foward to round 1

Jack Viney would be handy out there, his break away speed from a stoppage is a huge asset

all players really starting to struggle with possession - ball is looking pretty slippery.

great efforts by michie - first across half-back and then to clear up cross' poor kick rather than being able to take the mark, then cause the turnover and goal.

michie has been really good tonight.

slick handball by toumpas in close too.

Never kick off the ground in the backline Stevie J! Good job Viv. Gets his second of the night and was involved at half back so good work rate. Toumpas involved twice as well.

Couple of goals here we might make the cats abit jittery.

Have not read any thing prior. Been watching the game and enjoying the positive intent but boiling with frustration. Dan Nicholson, Rohan Bail and Matt Jones ARE NOT GOOD ENOUGH. Proven. Play youngsters instead.

Michie and Tyson excellent particularly considering how few games they have played and how good is Hogan. Go for the future.

ANY style would be better than whatever weve been doing in the previous few years!

Time for some perspective. It will take the boys time to gel as a unit. Not a bad display so far.

Do you know what persective is?

how is that man on the side giving watts his space on the mark? no way.

more shocking umpiring.

nate jones with a super goal. he's been reasonably quiet tonight - probably because he hasn't been required to do everything himself!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
