I understand the frustration amongst some posters and I don't think it's about Mitch Clark.

It has more got to do with - we don't have a forward line, Clark looks done regardless of passion, Dawes keeps getting injured, Hogan brings excitement - but we've lost him for a bit. Frawley is undecided, we are aware we need results for him to stay. We finally have a midfield - yet now we have no forward line.

All in all, we have Clark and Dawes locked in, yet we can't get them on the park.

We don't have Frawley or Hogan locked in and we are desperate to secure both.

Vince, Tyson, Michie and Cross bring excitement, yet we still need to kick goals.

Our best backman in Garland is still out.
Jamar is a distant memory.

We haven't seen Viney for a while.

I think all the frustrations of the above could wrongfully be directed at individual players at times, and I think that is fairly normal.

Not right, but normal.

& if its an Illness Mitch has contracted.. it could be serious? even life threatening.

I'd say if he's become 'unwell'.... & needs time away to clear his head & to sort things out. then that is whats best for Mitch, & us as well.

So you're saying you know something that we don't. And yes, if it is a serious illness, of course that's how you would deal with it. We might be passionate on here but most of us aren't heartless or stupid.

Really? Really???! Did you see what happened to the thread made to support Mitch?

Now who has their head in the sand?!

There was a thread for discussion about the situation, there was a thread to leave messages of support for a struggling demon.

Certain posters (the usual ones) couldn't understand the difference and started slagging off Clark in the thread that was intended to show him that us as SUPPORTERS are behind him.

There was that many that lacked comprehension that the threads were (wrongly) merged and that whole exercise became a waste of time other than to show how many follow the Dees because they love misery and love to whinge rather than get brought joy from the MFC. Sound familiar WYL?

LoL, I didn't say I know something, I'm saying we need to be careful what we imagine is happening in his personal life. & these latest revelations sound much more likely & understandable. & also could be dangerous to someones health who is in the middle of this sort of stuff.

I'm sure you have a heart, & I don't believe you are stupid either.

The "Wishing Mitch Well' thread has been like having a conversation with someone who's thinking about what they're going to say next instead of listening and adding to the conversation. The OP was engaged by many willing, to well....engage and derailed by those who, don't listen, love the sound of their own keyboards and haven't the discipline to keep their twitchy fingers off it!

Yes you sound familiar Stuie.

What more would i expect.

Mitch has not been dissed. Nobody wishes him anything but the best. But if he is unable to play again the club has to move on.

He is on a lot of coin.

His foot exploded back in june 2012. His football career effectively ended on that day in my opinion.

It will be a religious miracle if he plays again.

These are the parameters.

We need a forward line. If Mitch can't do it then we have to find a replacement.

If he needs time out he will be looked after.

No one is blaming him. But the reality is wasy to see

Missed the point AGAIN WYL. At this stage I'm not sure if you do it deliberately or not.

I disagree,

The day we sacked Norm Smith was far worse, and damaged the club much, much more.

What a farce this site is becoming. Full of whingers and negativity. Can't even have a thread to simply support a struggling player without it turning into the usual rubbish from the usual people. Try and remember the reason you originally came on here, because you love the dees.

Pathetic effort.

Yet you have made the same, bleating, whiny post about eight times when both the masses and the moderators have made their views on your ridiculous, naive thread fairly clear.

Edit: Hadn't read the last page. Eighteen times.

I cannot believe ppl on here are suggesting we don't honor Clark's contract which runs until the end 2015. He had a serious career threatening foot injury while playing like superman, worked hard to come back the following season playing well in 4 games before complications arose requiring him to have another operation to remove screws from his foot. He builds up to a level where before suffering soft tissue injuries in late December he is looking a good chance for round 1. The players and coaches vote him into the leadership group, clearly seeing him as an important leader. The injurues he has suffered are not his fault.

He joined the club on a 4 year contract and should be paid a 4 year contract regardless of whether he is able to play again.

Who said the injury's were his fault? Come years end if he is not playing/training with the club he should be delisted and his contract terminated. As I have already suggested the club will/should be there to offer support/counselling/professional help/job placement to help Mitch. Ordinary everyday people in ordinary everyday jobs take leave from their jobs for mental health reasons/to become carers/for child -relationship issues. Most company's are understanding at first but this can only be the case for so long. It's called the real world, try living in it.

I just read a tweet from Mitch thanking the MFC and everyone for their support.

Whatever emotional issues and disappointment about the ongoing health issues he is experiencing, we as Melbourne supporters should be behind him 100% of the way.

He is only 26 years old and those that know about young men and emotional issues understand that it is support, encouragement and patience that is required. We cannot cast him aside and reject him now.

Hang in there Mitch - this Demon supporter is with you all the way. Stay strong.

Try breaking a legal contract in your "real world".

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
