The Peter Jackson Appreciation Thread

Yep, thanks to the afl for delivering him to us. He came in didnt care about the history of the club just wanted to fix things and so far he has. Thats an advantage of getting an outsider in.

If only he would hang around permanently.

You know anyone who has ever had an appreciation thread on here has ended up fired usually in a huge mess. But a good start by PJ. MFCSS

Like some of you, I saw him talk at half-time in the Ryder Room a week/fortnight after he came to the club. Geez, he was impressive. Didn't beat around the bush in saying our club was simply not up to standard, and that he can totally understand that we as supporters have been given enough excuses. He called a spade 'a spade'.

He is the best thing that has happened to this club in my lifetime from an administration point of view, but I'd also go as far as extending this beyond just administration. I'm only 28 by the way... so I haven't really experienced much apart from a few years of competitiveness. I've got a feeling that we will all one day look back on the day he signed, as one of the most important days in the clubs history.

now we move on to the supplements manager appointment..........can't wait

dc I was going to agree with you on that other thread but that would have added another post.

Is there any way that we can show our appreciation?

We all rocked up to training that time to show support for the club but what can we do for Sir Peter Jackson The Great?

I don't want to bombard his email address as I am sure he has much to do.

Any ideas?

As well as luring Bartlett and Roos, he walked my Granny across the road the other day... what a legend.

Are you sure your Granny didn't help him cross the road ......... jokes (he was probably still in shock)

I cant fault his work so far. I hope he sticks around to extend Roos' contract. He has got more done in 4 months than most of the rest had done in 4 yrs.

That is, everything he has touched so far is turning to gold.

love him, he's been a star for us

He has turned our club on it's head. He has also put us back on the AFL map and given us a sense of pride in achieving what other clubs couldn't. There is no doubt Roos is hugely respected and most clubs would love to have him as coach. Now we can salivate on the team that will be put together to support Roos and the football department. I think we are all entitled to be excited.

I'm thinking add him to our midfield...!

We finally have some very clever people in charge of this footy club.

Always thought of him as a bulldog, and seeing his short stocky strut alongside the elegant Roos and Bartlett it's now stuck in my mind!

Good boy PJ!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
