Good to win a first quarter for a change.

Why wait until Round 23 to play with this intensity and desire???

Even Watts looks interested!

Good first quarter geez it shows how competitive we can be with a decent midfield. Defence is on top forwards look ok minus Hogan Dawes and Clark and yet we won the quarter despite being molested in the midfield. Sure there are some players today who should never play afl level again but there is something to work with if we can get a decent midfield.

Perhaps the mid week chat with next years coach helped them find motivation?

One of the more enjoyable quarters I've watched in a while. Grimes is 100 times better in defence.

Yep, looks like Roos has moved Grimes back and he is the general back there. Looks like a leader and playing like one.

Agreed - he can replace Rivers as that lose defender who takes marks and rebounds

Kent is a ripper!

And Howe can kick goals from anywhere accept in front

GOD DAMN UMPIRE GFY YOU RAT !!!! if we don't man up on them this could get ugly quickly they have so many numbers at the ball Im hoping we can stop this quickly

Our clearances still need a tonne of work.

Grimes has to stay in defence. This is already his best game of the year by some stretch.

Grimes is a marking defender and a bloody good one at that. As a mid he is in the Jordie Mckenzie category.

If we improved our one percenters by half we'd be 5 goals better a week.

Once again the lose man back is killing us. I'd rather we go a loose man in the midfield

Dunn just squibbed laying a tackle. Pathetic.

not just a tackle but a tackle when he had the guy cold to put him on his butt.

Instead he tackled with his hands. Just crap

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
