Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

its suggested that Ricciardo is leading the race for seat 2 @ Red Bullsh.

don't do it Daniel... you don't want to be trained into being a backup, for others... hold onto your dreams.

wait for the merry go round to settle, & try for a seat @ Mclaren or Mercedes...

mmmm I think they are all similar drvers

but hes now qualifying better ,which seems to be the trick these days

you have to be spot on in qually because the car is set up for race day,the cars that are set up just for qually tend to go backwards on raceday, also DR has learned to look after his tyres better as more experience and laps are totalled

I didn't get to watch last weekends race but i see he started 7th on the Grid and managed to hold that position at the end. He's getting better

yep, & he might be getting some nice bits as well, to help his confidence.

electronics, & telemetry.... the mind boggles what they could do with that stuff, they can get tyre air pressures live, & temp's, Imagine how they could change the mapping on the run,,, up, or down. timing, etc...

Upload an engine program map upgrade live, over the air ?

I'd say it's a pretty good move now, given his is the only non Mercedes race winner.

its working out nicely for Ricciardo with the changes made in F1, the V6 turbo's & changes to traction control etc. Vettell doesn't seem to be handling driving by the arse of his pants. now he's leaving even better.

I hope Alonso gets a better drive for 2015... would love for him to go to Mercedes AMG Petronas F1 to put it up the egocentric Nico Rosberg, but maybe more likely to McLaren.

I had the pleasure of attending a race overseas for the first time ever. I chose to go to Spa because I was staying in Maastricht (south Holland) and it was only 1 hour by train to the track. I got there on the Sunday morning without at ticket. As I went to stand in the rather ample que, a pommy bloke tapped me on the shoulder and said he had a grandstand ticket. I said how much and he said 200eu...i said na its ok the general admission was 120eu so I was fine. But he said ok his friend didnt show and he would take 120eu ....(you have to be careful in Europe because people do sell forged or copied tickets)....so i said if he came in with me id buy it inside....he was ok with that and guess what.....front row gold 2 grandstand on the straight that looks up the Eu Rouge hill. You can see the track for about 2 kms. WoW it was so fantastic.....the poms who got me the ticket were frantically barracking for Hamilton...(had to hide my laughter when he crashed into Rosberg).....and of course our Dan had a stirring victory.

Well that was a great year to watch F1....NOT!

agreed AKA... not so inspiring.  like most pro sport in recent years, the money people seem to be wrecking all topline sports.  they all seem to be sterilized of creativeness, & programmed for a certain person to win the race all the time...

for chrissies sake,   lets get back to one car teams,  PLEASE !!!  then there cannot be team rules, to Fuuukk up the sport.

Not just 1 car teams, just let them go for it, stop trying to equalize it.  Many wonderful things have come from the creative minds of F1 engineers, now they are being held back and told not to think outside the box but concentrate on how to manipulate whats inside it.

I would still love to see the return of ye old days, manual gear boxes, no brake bias adjustments or rolls bar adjustments, 0 telemetry to the pits so cars aren't very very expensive RC cars.  But it will never happen, and in a way i am ok with that, so long as progress can be made and innovative designs and ideas can be out in the open and celebrated as achievements.

yes its become just another Brand game instead of the real thing.  all about the driver/racers & their expertise, including some mechanical knowledge & racecraft.

the engineers need to stay out of it during the Race & do their work between races.   Thats where they should be...   its not a Moon mission for NASA.

I don't mind the telemetry, as long as its only sending from the car,  & not receiving...   so the teams can't change mapping,   up or down,  possibly [censored]-ling the non-preferred driver.

one car garages, with more teams on the grid,  & cars built to survive the race. & then we will see racing & no team rules or sponsors favourites in teams.

I think F1 should be open to both 2 car and single car entrants. Single car if you don't have the finances but you can still make it if you have a good design team. Also it should be open to as many teams that can put a car on the grid and qualifying becomes just that, the top 20 or so cars get to start the race. If a top team has car troubles they may miss out on the race.

The other thing I would like to see are some of the restrictions removed to allow innovation, this used to be used by car companies as an advantage in their manufacturing and sales. One I would like to see is engine size and configuration, instead of specifying the engine and recovery system it would be better to specify the amount of fuel you can use for the race and qualifying and allow the engineers to come up with the best and most economical power unit. This type of technology can then be feed back to the car companies, in turn they can become more involved again.

the problem with the 2 car teams strategy,  is the strategies...

it brings all sorts of tactics from the pits literally.    riding shotgun for team mate, holding up traffic.  whilst team-mate makes a break.

I want to see drivers drive to win,  & not to aid their favourite compatriot.

I like your thoughts on the petrol restrictions & to allow design to be creative,   but within a $pend cap on development.

Second disappointing start in a row from Daniel.

Seems not to want to push Max ....

Perhaps he just expects Max' car to fail as it has so many times this year.

Other than the last few laps it was a bit of a yawn fest but at least there was minor excitement for a few minutes.

Love F1 but it does seem to be slowly dying as a race even if the spectacle and hype are still there on occasions.

Will be interesting what the new owners do.

Bump......!

~If Daniel wins tonight in Azerbaijan and Vettal finishes lower than 5th and Hamilton lower than 2nd, then Dan will be leading the Championship for the 1st time ever. The track suits the Red Bulls and theres nothing between them on pole times. Should be a good race tonight. Link for race:

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
