He certainly does. Strikes me as a great appointment. Knows football very well. A players man. Very successful in corporate life. Very happy for us to go with substance over some showman. IMO a great appointment to rebuild the culture of the club.

It was reported in the media that Walker is battling cancer. You can put axe and the pins down.

Errm. That's what Redleg pointed out earlier hence why I revised my original post.

I believe there are some primary school kids in your area who are just begging for you to steal their bag of chocolate buddies and to reduce them to tears. Surely that is a better use of your time and resources!

about time

Hope hes the right man for the job

Never heard him speak or seen what he looks like, so i fear another Gabriel Szondy or Paul gardner

I pray he has some personality

I wonder what his eyebrows look like h h?

Certainly sounds a better option than Stockdale & "Melbourne Matters"

Their campaign on Facebook leaves me totally cold.

A family member attacked me because I liked his page.

I had to reassure him I only liked the page for the LOLs.

And many a LOL was had.

As long as watts and Roos are happy with this. I'd hate to upset two people who aren't sure if they want to be at the club.

I have seen Glen Barlett. Monster of a man, sands around 195-196cm and at least 100kg. Very imposing figure!

Great! Now let's see if that's enough to tip the scales in favour of a return to coaching by one Paul Roos.

VFL Background

Glen Bartlett (born 10 June 1964) is a former Australian rules footballer who played for the West Coast Eagles in the Victorian Football League (VFL) and East Perth in the West Australian Football League (WAFL).

Bartlett was used most as a key forward at East Perth. He joined West Coast for their inaugural VFL season in 1987 and won their 'Best Clubman' award after playing four games for the year. Despite this he was delisted and returned to East Perth with whom he kicked 69 goals in the 1990 WAFL season to win the Bernie Naylor Medal. He received another chance to play in the VFL when he was recruited by the Brisbane Bears but he did not move from Perth. A trade was considered with Melbourne Football Club for a full forward however Melbourne went for Alan Jackovich instead. Bartlett spent 4 years as Captain of East Perth before retiring after achieving life membership at the age of 26. Bartlett represented his state in an interstate match against South Australia in 1990, kicking three goals from full-forward in the first half.

Bartlett retired to concentrate on his law studies becoming a lawyer in 1996, a partner in the workplace relations team of Clayton Utz in 2000 founding the Perth practice. In 2008 Bartlett moved to Melbourne and was appointed Managing Partner of Clayton Utz Melbourne in late 2010.

Stable CEO - check.

President - check. ( I think )

I know nothing about Bartlett, and am struggling to see his connection to the MFC as anything but a professional move. Ability, vision, leadership are the most vital ingredients but I don't see any emotional/support connection - does he barrack for the Dees? I also hope he is not only an AFL liaison officer, who comes with strings attached. CAn anyone out there inform me on this?

Well at the moment..........

i'm just happy he isn't a melbourne man... new blood fellas (had connections with pj, not don and his crew) , just what we need (hopefully)

So you want somebody who supposedly has no feelings for MFC being the President?

Ridiculous comment

And some of Don's crew as you so eloquently put it, are still there

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
