6 - N.Jones ( never stopped trying , unlike most of the others )

5 - Pederson ( I hate him, but he actually did some good things )

4 - Clisby ( rough , but ready )

3 - Watts ( for a reasonable first half )

2 - Trengove ( seemed to be interested )

1 - Toumpas ( tried )

6. N. Jones - good as usual

5. Viney - good in patches

4. Clisby - rough, but played with heart

3. Pedersen - earned his place today

2. M. Jones - just ok

1. Trengove - seemed to try some of the time. (that's probably unfair, but you know what I mean)

The rest should hang their heads in shame. They tarnished a once proud jumper, and ripped the heart out of this once proud supporter.

6.Nate Jones - warrior and desperately needs a chop out next year

5.Clisby - bright light in a dim day

4.Pederson - Had a good game IMO but the haters will be calling for him to be dropped next week

3.Matt Jones - same as Clisby and has been a positive in a dismal year

2.Viney - love this kids attack on the ball, we need another 1

1. Kent - looks good when prepared to take the game on, needs to do it more

Pedersen is being over rated on todays performance. Does things ok when the ball falls for him but other than that just doesn't work hard or run to the right spots when he needs to defend. Makes a lot of poor decisions.

He played well today rjay, but he is out of condition and since we have him for 2 years more we need to get him to drop around 5 to 7kgs to get the best out of him

Matt Jones - 0 tackles. Just sayin'

And Dunny.

But the Giants had 4 players who didn't need to land one.

With Colin Garland seemingly restricted by that ankle, it's possible that we're going to see a Jones double.

I've asked this before but no one could answer me. Do we give them a prize for this at all? A medal or something would be cool, and i'd help contribute to costs. I'm sure the winner (most likely N. Jones) would be stoked on winning the best player award as voted by the supporters on the MFC's biggest forum.

He's a good floater 'Pennant', but not good when it's not on his terms. He needs some real urgency. Be interesting to see how he develops.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the

Thankfully, the offseason has recharged me, and I’m back—ready t
