[censored] this, I'm out. Better things to do on a precious weekend than waste my time watching a disgusting effort from a bunch of lazy and incompetent footballers.

The end of this season cannot come quickly enough.

I don't know how many times I've seen Pedersen just jogging around in defence with no urgency at all. Good VFL player, leave him there.

Lynch just spoke how Craig still has a few chances to show he is right for the job. I laughed and then realised the only thing that is keeping me supporting this club is the comedy. Then I felt very sad.

But like a sucker I will be back next week thinking we are a chance.

We might be actually be a chance next week. We're playing GWS.

Byrnes has been SH#T useless player

You are kidding? He's far from the worst out there, and has been like that all year. He's used to playing along side champions, he's not a champion himself.

It's as though Norf took the bell out of the ball before the game.

Only able to watch the details as they come through on the AFL site but this seems as bad as any game we've played this year.

We don't need a few mids we need a complete overhaul. Priority pick anyone; and we want our $500k back we don't tank we aren't anywhere near good enough to need to do that.

Call this an oversimplified view of football, but I am pretty sure one of the most basic principles they teach juniors is to man up..? For as many years as I can remember, across numerous coaches, Melbourne have never been able to lock down a team so there are no options. Perhaps if we could bring in a coach from any local under 15s team, get them to teach our boys to defend man on man, perhaps we would be able to put some pressure on teams defensively and create opportunities from turnovers going our way for a change. Would probably save about $950k a year in salary as well...... Just a thought.

This team lacks so much of everything needed to be successful. I just don't know where to start.

God I hate listening to Dwayne Russell. And what's worse is that we deserve every bit of his condescension.

We are just awful.

Our skills aren't VFL standard. They're not VFL seconds standard.

We can't make basic kicks. We can't make basic handpasses.

We don't make good choices, so we're making mistakes on bad options.

We go backwards too often. We go sideways too often. We go wide too often.

We carry too many passengers. We have too many up-and-down players. We have too many players whose ceilings aren't high enough.

We WILL lose to GWS playing like this. We need to rediscover man on man football and playing on instinct. No point playing on after a mark when the guys down the field are standing still. Too many times we are flat footed. All basic football one would think. Quite fixable.

THE ACCIDENTAL DEMONS by The Oracle

In the space of eight days, the Melbourne Football Club’s plans for the coming year were turned upside down by two season-ending injuries to players who were contending strongly for places in its opening round match against the GWS Giants. Shane McAdam was first player to go down with injury when he ruptured an Achilles tendon at Friday afternoon training, a week before the cut-off date for the AFL’s pre-season supplemental selection period (“SSP”). McAdam was beginning to get some real mom

RETURN TO NORMAL by Whispering Jack

One of my prized possessions is a framed, autographed guernsey bearing the number 31 worn by my childhood hero, Melbourne’s champion six time premiership player Ronald Dale Barassi who passed away on 16 September 2023, aged 87. The former captain who went on to a successful coaching career, mainly with other clubs, came back to the fold in his later years as a staunch Demon supporter who often sat across the way from me in the Northern Stand of the MCG cheering on the team. Barassi died the
