Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

India: Not a signatory to the 1951 refugee convention.

Pakistan: Why do you think they no longer play Pakistani cricket matches in Pakistan? The Taliban control large swathes of the northern Pakistan (after they were forced to retreat to after the 2001 war).

Turkey: That would be like driving to Geelong from Melbourne via Mallacoota. That being said, Turkey receives our annual quota of refugees in a month.

I think you will find that it's not a case of flying on planes to wherever. You will find that most refugees who make the journey have been mostly chewed up and spat out of refugee camps where you mostly have no hope for the future. You can't get a job. Your kids can't really get an education. It's just you, your rather meaningless UNHCR refugee status ticket (as you have no settlement country) and a long wait for resettlement.

I would also ask if you were running from official persecution, why would you give your location away by handing your passport over at an airport?

The last part is just unworkable as a general principle. Say if you were a person seeking asylum from North Korea, would you try to set up shop in the nearest port (which technically is South Korea but it's unreachable due to the DMZ)? Where do you think the next nearest 'port' is and what hopes do you think you would have of getting settled?

India don't sign anything apparently. not anything the west does anyway. not even cricket is done the right way according to them.

the point remains we cannot take all refugees from anywhere in the world... Sth East Asia & the Pacific region is our area of responsibility.

* If i was in Nth Korea, I would head to China first. the point is they may not take me. & that IS their right.

You volunteering?

Do you feel safer now?

Personally I detest the waste of public resources so the half wits in Canberra can win over the half wits in the electorate by claiming to have stopped a terrorist attack.

One bullet would have done the job for some delusional teen in Lakemba and kept the rest of them(jihadis) quiet.

That's why I called you a victim .

Or you are terribly naive.

The point of this war is to terrify the populace into compliance.

This is a bogus war that has no end,no result.

Except to keep you dumb.

You seem to think this is just a ploy by politicians when it is a real and genuine threat. This servers two purposes, it stops their planned murder of some innocent bystander and takes these idiots off the street.

There was a teenager who left here, went overseas and blew himself up in a Bagdad market, do you think that was planned by the half wits in Canberra?

Don't bother replying I think I already know your answer.

Back we go to Iraq with the US. It should be called Operation “Unscramble the Egg” as in lets try and fix up the mess we helped cause in the first place. Up to a few months ago there had just been 10 years of chaos and mass killings, car bombings and millions of Arab homeless refugees! And then things really spiralled out of control with ISIL I mean who was to know that the political instability in Iraq would culminate in the tragedy of two white faced Westerners being beheaded?

I'm with Tony - No choice we have to act!!

Why were the white westerners beheaded in the first place?

It wasn't because the West stated that they were going to act was it? Let's get the story right, this is s chicken egg scenario.

Would you be happy if they went on their merry way, slaughtering all those that had a different religion or disagreed with their barbaric ideals?

Perhaps you would recommend diplomacy and maybe you'd like to take part in a delegation with the greens to visit and thrash out the problems. Or should we just wait until they've killed every single person that disagrees with them.

Just pointing out the hypocrisy of the West and our media. Who cares about the hundreds of thousands of Arabic people who have died or have been injured, displaced since the Coalition of the Willing intervened 10 years ago. When two westerners are murdered it is all too much so off we go again to do what exactly?

We take a minuscule number by international and pizz a great heap of money away locking people away. We aren't even coming close to taking 'all refugees'.

* If you went to China, you wouldn't even get a hearing. They would send you straight back to the forced labor camps in North Korea. If you tried to apply for refugees status at the embassy you are a long shot as China is one of the few countries in the world that has it's own armed security guards at embassy gates.

So... in many cases for some people, it's not possible to find refuge in the so called 'next port of call' as you say.

so the few genuine ones then we'd take, after they've tried other countries first; but not those trying to come here first up,,, trying to force us, via embarrassing us thru the international media.

I don't mind the genuine, but not the trumped up green solicitors who seem to want a escalator into our country.

I would prefer to be able to screen & choose the ones who will fit into our culture more easily, rather than those who couldn't give a stuff about our ways & our values. just got to look at the taxi drivers who won't stop to pick you up at night, ot wnat to know where your going before they pick you up.

But if your a very drunk girl with short skirt, they seem to accept that fair. and many a girl gets more than they bargained for.

sorry CBF, I won't change on this. for me its about the type of people you allow into your home. caring ones who will respect your ways & things would be welcome. those who are envious a wanton can keep going past.

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
