Surely this will be the last season for Bail.
Showed glimpses, but could never keep himself on the park long enough to properly develop and gain match experience.
At almost 26 years of age it's probably time to replace him on the list with a new recruit who could do just as much, but at 8 years younger.
AFL is a tough game, off and on the field.

I would love for the club to at least come out and give us an honest account for where Mitch is at, give us a chance to brace ourselves for the worst or put the doubt to rest.

Clark this year looks like a complete write off now. But like others I'd like to know if this is a career ending injury. He appears to have made little to no progress since having the screw taken out. The club was initially buoyant that this would get him right. What's gone wrong?

I'd like to see the club give a true update on his progress. It is clearly a different injury than any other cater ending foot injuries we've seen at other clubs. That he has come back once indicates that the risks usually associated with those injuries aren't occurring.

But a genuine update would be appreciated.

Its a rare injury with not much precedent. Maybe they just dont know.

what about that gives you grave doubts? I can only assume it is the uncertainty. What I am suggesting is they give what little info they have; explain the actual problem and the prognosis, even if the prognosis is just "we need to wait til it settles down before he does anything".

a genuine talent, a league-elite standard that we have lacked for so long, whose presence alone makes us a significantly better side, and the key forward we have been crying for since Neita hung up the boots

and it looks like he's stuffed.. FML

I don't think it is the uncertainty - I think it is the complete lack of progress in over 12 months from his original injury. He's completely unsighted.

He recovered from the original dislocation sufficiently to be able to train and play.

He has since had the screw removed and has inflammation and irritation that hasn't settled sufficiently.

While it is related to the surgery, as far as I can tell this is now a completely different "injury" than the original one and ha only been going on for 12 weeks, not 12 months.

correct that his foot isn't right, that is a given that he isn't currently playing! But a claim of no progress for 12 months is deliberate ignorance because from the information that IS available that isn't correct.

I've already said I'd like the club to give a more detailed update of what IS going on. He may not come back, possible that he will have ongoing irritation throughout his career, but at the moment it appears that they are waiting on an injury/irritation to settle completely before moving forward and it is indefinite how long that will take.

That would explain why he has been so quiet on twitter.

I have no doubt he will come back and want to play for us. The way I see it there is no point in bringing him back this season. Its not like we are playing for finals. Give him the rest of the season off so he can get the foot right and have have him ready for r1 next year.
