Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Are you Spencils brother? He is really not in the mix.

Rest Howe-never.

Blease out?he is our best run and carry player.

MckEnzie is out because he cannot kick the ball to another Melbourne player.

I agree with you on Nicho because at the moment he is a three goal player-not for us.

Barry no.

Jetta yes-play him out to see if the glimpses were just that.

Biffo,

It's all about team balance and I reckon they will have realised after Geelong game that they erred in picking a dry-weather side, so they will probably correct it a bit with a bit more grunt - hence McKenzie and Viney. I'd prefer Magner to McKenzie but they don't seem inclined to go to Jimmy for some reason.

Dom Barry is a local Darwin boy and Aaron Davey is a god up there and this particular game is about promotion.

That's why Davey can't be dropped this week and Barry (at very least) will be emergency, but I suspect he'll actually be made the sub.

It doesn't worry me if Kent or Blease make room for Davey this week, because they both will be back in the following week after they've given Barry a taste.

If you saw the St Kilda game, you'll know Spencer is a monte to come in - the only decision is whether Fitzy or Gawn comes out.

As for Howey, I think he's everyone's favourite player, but I reckon he picked up injury a few weeks back against Pies (think he got heavy knock to abdomen area) and has lost a bit of his running ability as a result.

Hopefully he's right.

Jetta's had four season of glimpses and has had his chance - he's skilled but ultimately he's too slow and can't kick long enough to be dangerous.

So is Lucas Cook.

Also, Magner has been ineligible to be selected since Grimes was reinstated to the senior list

Hate to burst your bubble, Deespicable, but Gawn had nearly 50 hitouts last week and laid 7 tackles. He ain't coming out. Neither is the guy who has been a revelation the last few weeks and can actually play around the ground.

Whilst Spencer is now eligible, I can't see why we'd play him. Gawn is doing well at the moment, as is Fitzpatrick. Tough for Spencer who looked good in the St Kilda, but that's how it is.

Pedersen's playing good consistent VFL form, and maybe is worth a run over Dunn, who is a useless spud. But then we'd probably just be swapping spuds for spuds.

Yeah and for mine Dunn lifted his level from complete spud to intermediate spud last week so I'd say he's safe for now.

Although the players always lose a few kg's in Darwin so it might be the perfect match for Pedo.

I assume Dunn will be given the job on Rocky/Hanley as they rotate in the forward line so I dont think he will go.

I think Barry will play, had a good game in the 2's and we are going to Darwin.....Rodan got injured so without him having a run last week I would want to get him through a game in Casey to see him play a game to get recalled.

To be honest I am expecting Barry to go up as an emergency and be a late change to be the sub.

In: EMG: Barry, Viney, Pedersen

Out: EMG McKenzie, Rodan, Pedersen

out - Dunn, Nicho

in - Viney, Davis

Watch the 60 metre goal that Billie Smedts kicked last week to see why Lynden Dunn has no place in this team, or even at Casey. He is absolutely clueless, has no idea about positioning and cant even read a simple play.

The biggest spud in the AFL.

I have to agree with this, Dunn has no idea. I'm not a fan of Nicho but he seems to run to the right positions and have the ability to carry the football, just a shame he can't kick.

Strauss needs to come in, give him 5 games to show if he can play. The other reason is Strauss is more defensive than Clisby, Terlich and Dunn, if Strauss can lock down the most offensive small/Mid Forward, Clisby and Terlich can attack and we know Strauss is effectinve if he gest the footy.

Viney shouldn't come in, no reason to rush him back, another game at Casey will benefit him more than playing in Darwin.

Dawson Simpson got 55 hitouts. They broke even.Gawn is not a lock. Might bevworth using Spencer instead of Gawn as Spencer covers the ground better and the humidity will sap the energy from the players.

All true. Just for the record his Geelong opponent had more hit outs >55. Thanks to all the stoppages in the wet.

No way, when was the last time he was in the top 10 players in a MFC side?

Remember this a side that cannot beat time with a stick.

He is not trying to bust into Hawthorn or Geelong's line up.

The main reason we are so poor is we have poor players, Strauss is right up there in the "Not Good enough catagory"

Mind you he has a lot of mates, stays at Casey IMO

You know he's been playing forward yeah? You do also know we had the lowest inside 50s count on the weekend since the stat was recorded?

Just saying.

exactly, no-one in the forward line touched it

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
