After some encouraging performances and all our off field movement I feel the focus of Peter Jackson et al should be directed on signing Jack Watts ,Max Gawn ,extending James Frawley and even Hogan.

While rightly focus on 2014 coach is garnishing the headlines signing our stars would also make it more attractive to a prospective coach.

Ps unsure about Colin Sylvia

Do not agree with Sylvia, he has had more chances than most at this level.

Well Jaded, if you're not volunteering, maybe we could bring over another West Australian for him

I'd be waiting to see if he continues it into next year, DF. We've made that mistake before. Let's see him show consistency and then we can offer reward.

Someone find out where Michelle Jenneke is, drag her down to AAMI Park and lock her in a room for a few days with Hogan.

Wow. I know it's in jest, but massively problematic.

Sign Watts and Gawn up for 3 years ASAP

Extend Hogans contract to 5 years and big money

Sylvia for 2 years, might have to pay overs a little but its worth it as we have hardly any good senior players

my understanding was that watts was hoping to sign on asap just waiting on his manager to return from a holiday

Uh... Not sure I meant it to sound so forceful.

It was intended to be more along the lines of "get Michelle Jenneke & Hogan together, then stick them in the honeymoon suite with Barry Manilow playing..."

Or something.

Unless you're talking about something else.

Barry Manilow and a honeymoon suite sounds a little more consensual. ;)

But what will happen if the gf in point 5 hates Melbourne and Supports another team?

To me the Barry Manilow would be a gun to the head, but Adam like that your radar is on and your not afraid to speak up in a mature way.

On the light hearted note, I am amazed at how often father son selections seem to come good, I too hope that Hogan and other get some Barry White tunes happening.

Followed by Fitzy, Garland and Grimes.

Slightly more realistic here. I wonder what Jessica Trengove is doing these days? She's an athlete, she probably knows a few of our players, has ties to the club...

She knows at least one.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
