I don't see why GWS won't just give up pick 20 for Vince now if they are really keen on him. Unless we give up a player and pick 21/38 or whatever the compo will be, I doubt we are in the box seat

Posted

Excuse my french but fook me the MFC are trading incredibly well.

Michie for a fourth rounder and Tyson with pick 9 for essentially pick 2 and 20 (and the later pick trade).

I am astounded and am becoming overwhelmed with confidence in our newly structured club.

P.S Let's just hope Freeman slides to 9 and we can secure Vince the Sylvia componsation.

I don't think GWS are that interested in Vince right now to be honest and I think his preferred destination is MFC anyway?

We were rumoured somewhere to have offered Vince a three year deal so you'd think he'd be keen.

I really also rate Lyons so hoping he can be persuaded although I've read on here and heard on SEN that he isn't keen on leaving Adelaide.

How do we manouvre to pick up Zac Jones with our committment to Vince with the Compo pick? Surely our later pick #53 will be too late.

Who says we want him?

Trade blease Tapscott Dunn Jetta Strauss Nicholson for a pick in 20s to snare Jones.

Maybe add Magner to.

Anyone having troubles with trade radio?

yes it is not receiving!

Anyone having troubles with trade radio?

Yeah it's in and out. Besides the usual problems that Barrett's head has reached massive proportions after North getting Dal Santo

The [censored] Barrett just said that he can't work out what MFC are doing with Pick 2 going to GWS for Tyson etc, and that Dom wasn't the type of player that we were trying to lure with pick 2.

Thinks it's a huge win for the GWS, but not so for us.

I think it's a win win.... Wallace (for what his opinion is worth) reckons that if Tyson was in this draft he would be right up the top again. So we have traded 2 for a player that would probably be worth the same in this draft (but with a couple of years worth of preseason) we upgraded 20 to 9, and the other upgrade for loose change.

How did we lose exactly? Both clubs would like this trade for different reasons!

He had to get one right!

Omg [censored] barratt reckons we could be repeating last years effort for getting Dom Tyson.. FMD.

Wallace reckons superstar O Rourke is ahead of Tyson in the midfield for GWS..

There's mutterings at hq about doing away with compo for teams that lose free agents.

I hate free agency.

I hate hq even more than you hate free agency

Is that the same Wallace who did so well with drafting and development at Ninthmond?

I just don't know why people care what Barrett says about our club.....The success or failure will be known in a few years.....The same as every trade or draft pick will be for all the clubs.....

I heard him the other day saying that when he was at Richmond, they had 5 picks in the top 20, and now there is only 1 of those there, but rather than him taking part of the blame, he kinda made the call that 'Your list management doesn't always get it right'

Wallace not only needs a throat transplant, he needs a brain implant!

I wish Wallace would input about what clubs WOULDN'T do in regards to drafting, not what they SHOULD do.

Terry Wallace "Im thinking club-A should trade X player to X club and pick up Y draft pick in return which I would pick on player Z in this year draft.. I would do this, therefore clubs should ASTRAY from doing this also"

He also said he wouldn't have taken the Tigers job if he knew their financial position. Yet after his contract finished they were in a worse place financially.

No doubt their recruiting was rubbish. They reportedly recruited Jarrad Oakley-Nicholls without seeing him play and took a long time to realise he was dyslexic. But there development was just as bad. All 5 they picked showed talent at one stage but never kicked on.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
