Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I don't have any info on Paul Roos but I found footage of Action Jackson going through our Footy department. Please note I don't know why Ellie McKenzie is sleeping at our HQ she must have been busy doing the getting to know videos.

He's been one of our better players, but has also shown a distinct selfishness, ignoring teammates in better positions, and lacklustre tokenistic chasing defensively.

Against the saints he did that with real intent, and his intensity didn't drop.

That's what I was most impressed with.

Don't agree with that.

We wouldn't want to, but it wouldn't be the end of the world.

Whoever we lose we would receive compensation for, in one form or another.

Our responsibility is to make sure that is sufficient.

Sometimes you read so many posts & then read comments like this & think meh, just ignore it. But also you may think a ridiculous statement like that deserves a comment back. To construe Tom Mac's actions as you have, smacks to me someone who doesn't watch games live or has little understanding of the game. Bad disposal at times..yes..selfish etc ...definitely no!

I never really thought spelling applied to nicknames. Hardly on his birth certificate.

It doesn't need to be.

He is called "Bomba" after the title character in an old B&W tv show.

Funnily enough, tv shows have a title that is ALWAYS spelled on the screen at the beginning.

It's really all about clarity of the name's origin.

If you don't care, so be it.

I think the longer this drags out the more likely the new coach will be Roos.

He would be an outstanding choice for the players, sponsors and (new and existing) members.

This is very painful but at least we should end up with an "A" grade coach for the first time in a long time.

Roos would be a dream.

If he does coach, his ego would never let him be a failure as a coach.

No doubt Roos will be weighing this one up very carefully, because if he takes us on - he won't want to fail himself.

If Roos comes, he will bring a very strong supporting cast, hopefully Kirk, which would be a dream panel.

Roos could be waiting on the AFL to tick off a priority pick before he commits, there is little doubt that he would expect a priority pick.

Are you thick?

Sylvia was the player being discussed.

Fine.... Missed where you mentioned the name .!! However my comments stand re him as well. Any reason for the insult..... I mean we do all follow the same team & hopefully wish for the same success

A good article in The Age

http://www.theage.com.au/afl/afl-news/dees-need-winning-mindset-says-craig-20130628-2p2wk.html

What impresses me about Craig is the way he says things and what he says.

Don't get me wrong I still have a pref for Roos, Williams, then Eade or Craig as our next coach but in the remaining games of the season he will not do any further harm to the players.

If nothing else hopefully he will bring the group closer together.

Was a good decision to make Craig the interim coach.

I am currently reading the book written by Roos and his wife Tammi " Life is Sport, Sport is Life".

From what I have read, we can all rest assured that money won't be the main factor and if his wife is against it, end of story. Not only is Roos working in the media and for the Swans, he is also a very sought after motivational speaker.

He doesn't need the money. He will do it if he is motivated and his family is happy about it.

As a side note, if the book is accurate, he is a very decent person and his family have very good values.

PS. Tanking would have been totally repugnant to him.

He said "winning" a lot. Someone pointed out during Neeld's tenure that he never mentioned winning at all.

Inexperience. Rebuild of a rebuild, five year plan etc.. I honestly believe Neeld sucked the winning mindset out of them with all that talk. Craig is now trying to install the belief into them that yeah we are inexperienced but just look at Brisbane in the way that if we come with a positive winning mindset then anything is possible! just believe in yourselves, which NG does.

He was absolutely gob smacked when Brock Mclean confessed of the tanking situation last year on the couch.

Btw if we did get Roos expect us to sign a couple of American Basketballs or College football players. The guy is a massive American sports fanatic and he has already has a couple of College basketballers or NFL players already in his Academy. He was the sole reason why Mike Pyke is doing so well for Sydney. The transformation from International rugby union player to premiership ruck man is phenomenal!

He was not the sole reason why Mike Pyke is doing well, but he contributed.

He may however be the sole reason why the Swans gained their now famous culture. I think he developed it and instilled it and now the leaders continue it on.

The end of the last game he coached the Swans as caretaker in 2002, saw the players run to him, embrace him and chant his name. That show of emotion, in no small way, convinced the Swans hierarchy that he was the man for the job.

Before making a decision about Craig I'd like to know the full extent to our dealings with Dank and if he played a role in it at all.

I was going to 'like' this post because I agree with it. I certainly don't like that I agree with it.

Misson too.

Consequences come especially if Trengove and others are in trouble.

If Trengove gets banned well at least he finally gets a rest, seeing as our coaches are hell bent on running this poor kid into the ground just because he has a "c" next to his name!

I think you would find it is Jack who is doing it to himself.

I am ok with it (being a captain myself I would do the same) assuming he can have a full pre-season.

Like the full pre-season he had this year after being run ragged last year? Even if it is Trengove's decision to keep playing where is the accountability from the coaching staff? He has been mismanaged but I guess that falls in line with our dreadful recent history of player development and management.

We probably bought Clark back too early also. I remember the shock at his, what was considered at the time, early inclusion. Shock horror he goes down with another foot injury.

He didn't have a full pre-season. And I agree that we need to show better care for our players - Trengove missed a few months of PS and his terrible form in the first 8 weeks may have been fitness base related. Clark was a rushed return IMO and should have not played.

Again, as long as Jack is not endangering a full PS for 2014 then him playing the year out is fine.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
