Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

WELCOME TO DEMONLAND - PAUL ROOS

Don Argus for president anyone? He's definitely got the time now. Or it could be that bloke from IOOF...

Don is 75 this year - would have thought he might be a bit too old. Still very sharp though.

I read that article with interest this morning.

I have no problem in the AFL taking a role if its for the good of the club.

Whilst i still think his family situation is key to Roos decision it must be a big big plus if the AFL comes to you with the club and says "we need your help" that must be very hard to resist for anyone connected with the game. It would also make it hard to take any other offer such as Brisbane.

Clearly the Board is all but selected and being discussed with Roos as well.

Peter jackson said in the recent media conference that he had a clear understanding with Neil Craig which i took to mean he had no promises re coaching or his position next year.

Good to see we have a clear plan and the AFL is on board as this will give the players a lot of hope for the future.

Not Rumour, big news.

The AFL has, for all intensive purposes, taken over the MFC. The AFL alone will determine who will be Coach, President and CEO (Jackson). In my opinion this is a good thing.

The AFL/MFC have had further discussions with Roos and the MFC in conjunction with the AFL will make him a very lucrative offer which will include full power over the football department and priority or mini draft picks. The AFL/MFC are currently working on the offer after feedback from Roos and have informed Roos that the role is his if he wants it. The AFL/MFC are confident enough that they will not look at other coaches until Roos rejects the offer. I understand that the AFL/MFC feel he will likely accept the offer and consider him a better than 50/50 chance.

Make no mistake, If we land Roos it will be our Chris Judd moment (aka Carlton). I would argue this would be even bigger than Carlton's moment.

Interestingly the AFL have rejected Kennett, Stockdale and Freeman as President. All have had meetings with Demetrio, all have been told they don't have AFL support. Although the AFL can't stop these people standing and winning, the AFL has let the MFC know that getting their choice in President is part of the rescue package and if their choice does not get the role the AFL support can't be guaranteed. It is understood they have their own very high profile President in mind. Still no word on who this is.

Again this is all confirmed and not rumour. It comes from the same sources as my previous comments (for those who have been following)

The AFL Demons doesn't have the same ring too it does it. I am just at such a low ebb with our "club" which is now being run by the AFL, again we have just farked every opportunity over the last 5+ years so badly we have been taken over by Vlad and his cohorts. Guh.

I didn't think I could be any lower than the decline of this season with fines, CEO and coach sacking and just a horrible sh i tty brand on game day, but nope it seems every week it gets worse, darkest before the dawn, well I'm blind by this stage. Give us some hope Dees. The AFL has to step in to give us that hope.... I know GNF has said Roos is better than 50/50 but gebus the way we are going it is guaranteed he will turn us down and sign with West Coke...

I'm pretty sure the AFL had control of port Adelaide last year. They were in the same situation as us no coach, cash, wins or interest from fans. I have no issue with the AFL taking over for a certain time. They want to see us thrive not just survive.

I spoke to a well connected pies supporter who said to me pretty much he had heard the same as GNF about the AFL taking over and chasing Roos. Did not know about the board tho.

Two different sources and the smiths article has made me think there is defiantly some fire there amongst the smoke.

Thanks GNF.

For all intents and purposes please note:

Mark "Bomber" Thompson (Ess assistant)

Ken Bomba Shelton.(st kilda ex-coach) From Bomba the Jungle Boy. Ken looked like Bomba as a kid.

No biggie but it keeps coming up.

From what I hear its practically a done deal. The AFL are basically hiring Roos for us and making certain he has sweeteners - money and early mini draft pics and a long term deal and long term plan (3-5 years).

From what GNF and a few others have heard about us landing Roos and extra picks we will be one of the most hated teams in the league by opposition supporters. Thank god for that.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
