Paul Roos is no longer open to talks.

Paul Roos is now otherwise engaged.

I just called my dad who has been in hospital for a week and he was yelling at the nurse to turn the radio on. Haha.

2 years? fek that, I wanted 5

That must mean that a senior assistant is coming along with him in some form you would imagine.

They were saying he wanted 5 last week. I hope this means he will see after 2 years and then just go. Geez I hope he is around for 5 at least.

I wonder how schwab feels in the sense that PJ has done more to this club in 6 mths then schwab did in his time. He has landed a gigantic fish as coach. Thankyou to the AFL for delivering us this wonderful man.

Now lets see some players re signing

Cannot wait until r1

3 years was a year and 1/2 too long for the previous coach

But that was the previous coach

Can Roos change the clubs fortunes in 2 years? - I think he could in 3 years but if he won't be taking us to any grand final in 3 years :(

Still - we have two years to make him stay for longer - lets get to it!

But for now demonlanders - get some sleep.

I thought I'd want to tell all the doubters who told me to give up on Roos or that he'd said no to suck it... But I'm just feeling the love for ALL my Demon brothers and sisters!

Was it ever in doubt? after hearing he met with the leadership group, it was just a matter of the timing of the announcement,

This is a huge boost for the club, and us (supporters) Roos has the job in front of him to turn the rabble into a final 8 football team.

But we couldnt ask for a better person to guide us up the ladder. The players will be rapt.

The players and the club dont have any more excuses, no more wannabe coaches. Roos is the best available. I wish him every success.

Now to hear who else climbs on board to assist him. Exciting times ahead.

Hope he leaves the family a forwarding address :)

Whatever Neil Craig decides on his future, I'd like to thank him to his work at the club, stepping in to fill the void. I have mixed emotions if he chooses to move on.

PS: Would have liked a 3 yr contract with the option of 5

I was one who said he would never come - I am happy to admit it.

I am obviously not very good at reading between the lines - I usually take no as a no..... oh you little devil Roosy!

I'm sure he will get asked why only 2 years at the press conference.

I'm sure we have a plan. Both his previous assistants have gone on to be damn good coaches in their own right.

I have been on the Choco bandwagon for some time for reasons previously mentioned. But this is huge for our club and I wish him all the best. As someone has already alluded to to, a succession plan sounds likely. Keen to hear of his assistants.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
