Terlich Davis Garland

Clisby McDonald M. Jones

Toumpas Jones Evans

Howe Dawes Sylvia

Davey Gawn Blease

Jamar Magner McKenzie

Trengove Viney Watts Kent

Out: Rodan, Dunn, Pedersen, Tapscott, Fitzy

In: Magner, Clisby, Davis, Viney, Gawn

3 forced changes in Gawn has to come in for Fitzy, Magner for Rodan and Viney for Tapscott and the other 2 are really about providing some kids a chance. I know we are stuck with Dunn and Pedersen for next year but they are offering so little. I want to know if Davis can play and it's a hard task to throw him in but he'll be on Maister or Stanley and he has to be good enough to limit those type of players. And Clisby looks a nice AFL prospect with run, speed and skill for Casey. Has to have a look in ahead of Dunn.

Maistre out for 8 weeks I think, he'll have to wait until next year to add to his goal tally.

This could change further this week.

Given the updated injury on Evans I'll make the amendment of Rodan getting a reprieve at Pickles expense.

HB: Howe, McDonald, Clisby

HF: Tapscott, Watts, Davey

FF: Fitzpatrick, Dawes, Kent

FOLL: Jamar, Sylvia, Magner

Could be interesting team selection this week with 'new' coach/'new' match committee.

You would have to think that Magner would be in the frame more. (For whatever reason, he didn't get much of a run this year with Neeld.)

Magner is such a competitive player, who finds the ball; defensively OK too I would have thought.

This week you pick your absolute best available. Players who are most likely to get us a win.

Sounds obvious, but I don't want players picked on development or potential. Mind set will come into it - players who may have a point to prove cone in, players who may be disappointed get a rest.

Our best chance of a win this week, let's make it happen.

Dunn, McKenzie and Tapscott should all be dropped.

Couch, Magner and Strauss should all come in - we need to see what these players offer, so that we can make informed decisions at the end of the year.

Fitzpatrick gets another game to try to build some confidence against a far worse opponent than Collingwood.

I'll take you to task on Byrnes' ball use, he's one of the few players in the side who is a consistently good kick. Watch his games earlier this year; he kicks the ball low and fast at the lead, rather than high, up-and-under, and/or behind their lead. He adds plenty to a side of awful disposal. He's also no slower than most of our mids.

I totally agree

Strauss was no 19 pick in 2007 and we need to see if he is a keeper now. He has had a tough run with injury but he was playing some good footy whe he did his leg and given he has been in the system for 5 years he now needs to stand up and be the player we need or we have to cut the losses. Jetta (51), Bail (64) and Bleaze (15) were the same draft and at least couple should be in our core now. If they are not capable then ditch them.

The same needs to be found out about Couch and Magner and the only way is to play them.

I like Dunn and recon his boot is handy but I cant see too much more development from him. Tappy has been very disappointing, tough and hard but dosnt get nearly enough of the ball. Mackenzie is being asked to be something he is not. He is a tagger and thats about it. I am not sure he will ever be a damaging player to the opposition.

I think we need to get game time into Gawn and Fitzpatrick because Jamar only has another year or so.

I would be tempted to leave the young blokes like Toumpas, Tynan and Taggrt in the 2's to play in a winning team and worry about geting games into Bleaze, Bail, Jetta and Strauss in the remaining games

to see who is worth hanging on to.

Milne not playing can't hurt our cause. You would think he would be worth at least 3-4 goals against us.

NB I often have these thoughts when a key player is out for the opposition and generally it makes no difference to the result

The Saints will definitely have four missing from last time (when we kicked 8 goals in the last quarter to lose by only 25 points) and maybe up to another four.

Milne and Maister then kicked seven between them. As well as injury queries they have a few players with dubious form.

Yeah, they're not alone in the last respects but the Dees are surely not 6-1 chances.

Demonland Trackwatchers braved the sweltering heat to bring you their Preseason Training observations from Gosch's Paddock on Monday morning. SCOOP JUNIOR'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS I went down today in what were pretty ordinary conditions - hot and windy. When I got there, they were doing repeat simulations of a stoppage on the wing and then moving the ball inside 50. There seemed to be an emphasis on handballing out of the stoppage, usually there were 3 or 4 handballs to

WAYNE WUSSELL'S PRESEASON TRAINING OBSERVATIONS Rehab: Lever, Spargo, McAdam, Lindsay, Brown Sinnema is excellent by foot and has a decent vertical leap. Windsor is training with the Defenders. BEST OF THE REST by Meggs

Meggs' Review of Melbourne's AFLW Season 9 ... Congratulations first off to the North Melbourne Kangaroos on winning the 2024 AFLW Premiership. Roos Coach Darren Crocker has assembled a team chock-full of competitive and highly skilful players who outclassed the Brisbane Lions in the Grand Final to remain undefeated throughout Season 9. A huge achievement in what was a dominant season by North. For Melbourne fans, the season was unfortunately one of frustration and disappointment
