1. Let PJ restructure the admin including the FD.

2. New President and a few changes on the Board, keeping only those who can really contribute and adding people with expertise in the required portfolios.

3. New coach, with previous AFL experience, including if possible, a flag as a coach. Must be a player's coach and able to generate player buy in and loyalty.

4. Trade in a free agent mid or two who are in our best 22 with the right work ethic and with plenty of their career left.

5. Trade an aging ruckman to GWS, who will lose Brogan, for a mid or 2 or a mid and a pick.

6. Ontrade the pick for another mid.

7. Obtain a Priority Pick or two with the second at the end of round one.

8. Use the PP's and first few picks to draft mids. At least 4-5 could be taken and even more if good players were available. Also if possible get one or two Christensen/Motlop/Garlett small forward types.

9. Delist those who cannot dispose of the football to AFL standard.

10. Unless Gillies completely turns around his game admit failure on MN's older players and delist Byrnes, Rodan and Gillies and pay them out if necessary. Pedersen obviously gets another year as he has two more to go and is at least versatile. Dawes is fine.

11. Get as many games into JV, Blease, Kent, Taggart, Toumpas, Terlich, M. Jones, Fitzy, Gawn and Tynan as possible in the rest of this year.

12. Wrap Mitch in cotton wool for next year and keep him mentoring Jesse at Casey.

13. Re-sign Watts and Sylvia and get them to buy in under new Coach and new side that we will see in 2014.

14. Get as much cash from the AFL as possible to compensate for the dreadful financial fixture we have been given for the last few years (I admit our performances this year haven't helped).

15. Get everyone in the club to start talking up the club instead of spewing doom.

16. Pray for a good run with injuries next year.

I know I have forgotten some points but feel free to add to them Demonlanders.

I honestly believe with 2-3 reasonable mids from other clubs and the best two in the draft, as GWS will take Boyd, plus more mids and the improvement in the boys we have with another pre season and Mitch and Hogan into the forward line with Dawes and say Howe/Sylvia/Watts we will be a completely different side.

Premiership coaches are not always readily available, or they've been out of the game too long.

Worsfold's future looks uncertain, but I'd doubt he would move east....back to pharmacy, I'd say.

Neeld must see out his contract and then be assessed on merit.

That's the fundamental, followed by the role of the CEO, structure and composition of the football department including coach, recruiting and list management. PJ said the list manager was the most important person at an AFL club but I disagree - you need to have the right people everywhere but most importantly, at the top.

Re 5: Jamar is a must keep for me. We need someone who can mentor Gawn and Fitz and Jamar is a decent ruckman, no matter what people say. Spencer would be ideal for this trade scenario, if anyone would be foolish enough to want him.

Re 9: I agree with this, however we might find ourselves disposing of at least 10 players. The ones who have to improve drastically or go for me are Bail, Nicholson and McKenzie. Won't happen with McKenzie due to his contract status.

Re 12: Absolutely, I can't believe he wasn't at least put on the long term injury list. There is absolutely no harm in giving him at least a couple of extra weeks on the sidelines, particularly if his history contributed to the current injury. It would also allow us to give Crouch a crack - one of the few who have actually deserved it due to strong performance in the seconds.

I agree with most of this, Redleg.

However, I don't agree with this 'failure':

Firstly, Gillies is 22 and on a one year contract. Byrnes has another year to go and has been average to solid as a FP in a terrible team. Rodan is there because we obviously failed to do point 4 (get young 'best 22' mids).

I really think that all the angst when it comes to 'Neeld's Disastrous List Management' comes down to two players; Moloney and Rodan. The importance of these moves has been inflated to make a point and while I understand you can't keep bringing players onto the list who don't give much onfield - we have plenty of those unfortunately, and the a list is not turned around in one draft.

5 will take some doing. I don't know what we would get back, nor whether said player would agree to go to West Sydney...

9 will, again, be difficult to do in one year.

13 would be an interesting outcome. Is Watts' worth to us in a trade? Will Sylvia stay? If he does go, can we get a top 20 pick?

Williams, a well structured FD, and a good young established mid is a very achievable scenario for 2014 and it will make a huge difference to our on-field fortunes.
