Why do they need to if Trengove is still there?

Does it show that Trenners is not a strong enough leader yet?

Perhaps sarcasm is wasted in written conversation?

You're probably right, I am curious though as to why someone armed with this knowledge would reply with a sarcastic remark.

IMO they are worried about Trengove having to do the job on his own when he is struggling to justify his spot in the team.

You cannot take the job away from him now without it looking like a loss of faith in him.

So give the vacant spots to Jones and Garland and they become in effect the Captain and Vice.

The right guys do the job and Trengove's ego etc is in tact.

Seems quite a smart move to me.

Trengrove might be the MI this week!

Reference to your comment previous to that.

Now not wanting to one of those types who fritters their time away bickering on an online forum, let's agree to agree.

@melbournefc: Neeld: Trengove didn't get through training. He has a minor calf strain so he won't be playing this week.

I take this as good news - hopefully it means he isn't carrying something major and the week off will give him some time to regain the energy in his legs.

Give him a month off. Disappointed to hear Mager won't be elevated this week.

Isn't a calf the standard excuse to drop a captain injury?

Magner old chap, what to give posters another chance to say, too slow, too one dimensional, can't kick etc etc like they did last year, love topics like this, the negative monsters have their keyboards burning, yet another excuse to bash, bit pathetic really

Although I don't know anything about the inner workings of the club it seems stupid to me that they don't give Clark or Grimes (especially Clark given his history) an extra week or two on the sidelines to enable us to put them on the LTI list and elevate Magner.

Interesting (and perhaps a little convenient). I think we all agree that he's not in our best 22 at the moment, so there may be a few minor positives to take out of his injury (for us and for him). He himself needs a bit of a rest anyway.

You really need to change which side of the bed you get out of.

I am normally positive, but this is just more superficial crap from the MFC.

Keep the promotion behind close doors and start worrying about winning games.

Getting over their spin.

Agree.

Should have played our cards close to our chest and thrown GC17's preparations into disarray at Sunday's coin toss..........

Jack Grimes will be placed on the Long Term Injury List and will miss a minimum of eight weeks.

I assume this means we will be elevating Magner too. I like it.

This is not a given although they do have the capacity to elevate one of their four rookies. If they had decided it was Magner then it would on featured in the press release!

No I don't, just pouring a bit of boiling scorn on the Demonland Orcs, Magner must not be elevated for a reason, what will the reaction be if we upgrade Clisby, and as for an excuse to drop Trengove.....too many are always looking at the grassy knoll!!!!

why do you say that clint? was there an announcement?

i heard grimes was officially put on the lti today, so why do that if no uplift?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
