Loved what I heard.

A man that is here to tell it like it is and make serious change.

Maeks you wonder just what the fark Cameron Schawb was doing the whole time?

Especially after the 186 debacle !!

Soft board in my mind, We need some changes at board level big time.... I can't recall a good decision ???

I'm so sick of hearing garbage at the AGM ,

Gee whiz The Footy Show is dragging it out.

Sure are !!

They just need to get the expert David King on to tell everyone that today's game is our grand final in its prelude .... (Gee I despise that guy)

Jackson can actually command a level of respect with the people who he deals with, I'm not sure Neeld can. There is a big difference in the way they seem to go about things & the way they hold themselves.

Yeh you're right but it was more an example rather then literal

No worries, my wife is having a lie in, will keep you posted if anything outside the article is said.

Did mum like footy up until 2007-present?

it's also evident that Cam Schwab still tried to be too involved with the footy department and how it was being run.

The 'pair of Jacks' and Grimesy getting number 31 had his fingerprints all over them!

My step father is a filth supporter so i lost faith in Mum's football allegiences!!

Jackson is there to right the wrongs of the incompetent fools who have been screwing this club.

Saw the interview. He looks a leader but actually didn't say a lot till the end saying the afl don't respect us and the supporters don't respect us.

A lot of talk or process and structures which are nothing words to me. Got the distinct impression whilst not answering the captaincy criticism, that he thought it was a terrible decision.

Wait and see. We restructured all but one coach 18 months ago.

Looks like he will want experience into the side which is what neeld was actually doing.

WYL my 7 year old jumped on board the filth in 2011 and I took my two boys to the game. My 5 year old Dee who is going through that faze of idolising his big brother asked if he could wear one of his brothers older jumpers and he did.

We went to the game and the younger boy had a Pies jumper on but also wore his Dees beanie and scarf, I started thinking here I go I'm slowly losing another 1, but whilst walking back to the car he said, Dad I enjoyed that but I will be more interested when we come back in two weeks when Melbourne play.

Mr. Jackson can we please have 1 Captain.

Stop this pathetic diluting of responsibilities and possible divisions through out the list and even the club.

1 Captain who we all stand behind.

That is all.

We just have to start winning games.

I shudder now thinking back to the years of 2008-09. There could not be a worse strategy for this club to have taken. For others there was merit, but for the MFC we had no right considering our lack of success.

This club will survive through hard work, not handouts for being hopeless

of course i read what he said.

GET THE FOOTY DEPARTMENT RIGHT FIRST...The rest will follow.

Having 2 Captains totally sucks.

No need to swear btw.

I agree that we need one captain but whatever happens next needs to be done with the utmost of care. Jack Trengove would be the obvious candidate to be dropped from the captaincy but the kid, given the right circumstances, CAN play. If I were him right now, I would be feeling somewhat bitter about having such a heavy burden put on me at a time when I am trying to establish myself as a regular selection in the 22 and as a player of great quality. I would be doubly p'ed off that people stripped me of that job in a public and humiliating way when things weren't going well and support around the club was in short supply. I HOPE that Jack realizes that this is doing nobody any good and that he should take a step back to focus on his own game. I hope as well that it is explained in an artful way (more eloquently than I can explain anyway!) that it was unfair to put this on him to satisfy the whims of a CERTAIN club official (cough, cough). It sounds horrible saying it like that but I believe that is probably what happened and Jack was used as a pawn in a political game that the Andrews Report summed up quite well as 'being more about image than anything substantive'.

Hopefully we can hang onto him for longer than six months

i have no ill will towards Jack Trengove at all. I hope he can play.

This whole dual captaincy rubbish rests squarely with Neeld & the board.

Totally.

For those who missed.

- Predicted operating loss of 1.5+ mil.

- No cuts to footy department spending, just need to look at where it's allocated.

- Time for Neeld to show how he can perform when scrutiny of last 20 months passes by.

- Could be heads that roll in the FD in terms of simplifying who is managing its operations.

He was consistent in that line on 3aw. Spoke of the inexperience through the football club and administration.

The operating loss is not a surprise given the season so far and we relied on members charity LY to strike a meagre profit. I wonder if Jacksons figure included termination costs for certain FD members. If not the figure will push over $2m.

He has only been here 1.5 weeks and already he is coming to grasp with the issues.

He repeatedly said that to correct the MFC will take longer than six months and he is right.

In regard to the FD, said that reporting lines weren't clear and there were too many FD staff reporting directly to the CEO. Makes you wonder how we did not know about the supplements program.

I would expect that when the six months are up he will have left a strong impact on MFC.

Good stuff Jacko. Take this club by the balls. God knows someone needs to.

Could not agree more. The spin we've been fed has been dizzying, with Mr President leading the charge.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
