Can someone please find me in the last quarter Colin's run down the middle of the ground.

Im not sure if anyone remembers it, but if you do.. please can someone maybe who has some footage of the last quarter find me the clip.

Most ridiculous run I've seen.

I think he is the only player on our list that could ever pull that off (probably not even Nathan Jones).

He just has it all - the strength, the speed, the beautiful foot skills - if only he had consistency.

I think Sylvia and Nathan Jones could pull this club out of the shi#s single handed - if they were both at the top of their games.

All the team needs is a little spark - a couple of the senior players to really stand up (well these two are it!).

I really think that if we can win against Brisbane we could be a totally different team - its amazing what a little bit of confidence will do!

i do agree, but i really think that Sylvia needs to stand up.

It's enough

That run reminded me off many a rugby players run through a pack. Colin simply forgot about getting hurt and just went for it. We need more of that kind of courage from our players on a regular basis!

Col stood up yesterday in the last quarter like he never has before. He showed true leadership.

if he had the application and desire of Nathan Jones he would go close to the Brownlow

But alas, it was only against GWS. I pray he can go on with it, but i wont hold my breath.

When I see him bust a run like that through Geelongs midfield, then I'll get excited.

Sorry to be a bit negative, but he was brushing off some tired boys.

GWS's midfield isnt that bad mate.

Ward, Greene (already a star), Scully and Palmer.. they are all pretty decent players.

The way he ran through the pack is not something that many players could do, against any team.

The combination in the centre of Sylvia, Jones and Trengove looked beautifully balanced.

Colin - I hope that you are reading this - we desperately need you to do this consistently. How about having a chat with RDB???

He did something similar last year too and kicked a goal...can't remember who it was against but I think it was in a win???

Essendon, in a pack near the goal square?

He did it against Essendon last year, the run wasn't as long but he burst out of the pack and snapped a goal.

He's an absolute beauty when he does that! And that's what our young players need to see more of!

I'll put in on youtube when i've got a second. I will say it didn't look as good on the tv as it did at the ground though.

Yep, it was unbelievable. He was like an angry rhino on jungle juice.

I loved his apparent passion for the club after the game too - geez, I hope he commits to this club for the rest of his career.

I know Cols had a few doubters, but if you look at last year and so far this year,it looks like he is finally playing more consistent footy.

Yes agree it was a good highlight. Sylvia has the talent, no question. His application is to improve. He would be a star in any of the top 8 teams.

We must keep him. I would be really p*&ss$5ed off if he went out via Free Agency (free to the club who gets them).

He's an absolute gem.

Col has had a good past year and is looking to hit a new level in my opinion, which he has promised for so long

i think so to, col needs better players around him to inspire him.

Was a jaw dropping moment for me.

Can't recall the last time i saw a player at the MFC do something like that. Maybe Jakovich in full flight, but even then it would only be 2 players max. I think Col brushed off 3 in that run or was i seeing things?

Click on the second goal in the last quarter (big Maxy's goal). It's just after that. Many other fine clearances from him. A great game Col!!!

I think he's been watching Melbourne Storm, because he went through the pack like Billy Slater. It was probably inspirational for the players, it certainly was for the fans. Might have picked up a vote or two there.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
