I'm in, and truth be told, so is everyone on this website.

The reason we come on here, the reason we cry for sackings, the reason we whinge about beards, the reason we kick up a fuss about clash jumpers, is because we love this club.

With all the emotion, anger, disappointment, embarrassment, and frustration, a response of 'I'm done, no more for me' isn't exactly unreasonable. But in those people's hearts, they're not going anywhere, and deep down, they don't mean what they say (and yes, I'm aware that there will be people who say 'No, this time it's for real').

Eventually, whether it's next week, next year, or next decade, something good will happen to this club, and the lot of us will be the most chuffed supporters you've ever seen for sticking through hell.

For now, we're all still in.

I'm really disappointed with some of the stuff being written on here, in a public forum, about this being the 'end of the club'. It isn't because as has been proven time and time again we have a very very loyal and very forgiving group of supporters that care too much about it. This kind of negative talk from places like Demonland will only serve to feed the insipid media thirst for blood. People might say 'nobody externally is going to be reading Demonland' but they do and they will.

Our job as supporters is to DEMAND that changes are made for the better of the club. I think we will all feel a lot better once we are 100% sue we are at least at ground zero. We have an important role in all of this and we absolutely have to stick with the MFC and one day when we finally get things right we will all be there to enjoy the spoils. Talk of handing back memberships, asking for refunds and just generally giving up isn't what this club is about.

I have said in the past that my support is unconditional so losses, however shameful, won't stop me from supporting the MFC.

Interest wanes of course but I will pay my membership(s) and attend as many games as I can get to.

I feel for the stories of fathers telling children that they can support other clubs. Ultimately this is how we went from where we were in 60s to where we found ourselves after 23 years in the wilderness.

We are 7 years into our current wilderness and we look to be losing more kids and make the future harder again.

Call for the coach to be sacked, plead for a board challenge, scream into the radio, demand more of players at the end of games - all these things are more helpful than abandonment.

Let's get through this and make some hard decisions at the end of the year.

My first post, just to say I'm in and I'm Demon forever.

Flying up to Brissie to see us play against the lions, then coming down to Melbourne from Syd to watch us play Collingwood on the long weekend.

If people want to sink the boot into the club now, so be it. I won't be one of them.

Knowing I've supported the club all the way through this will make the wins all the sweeter when they do come.

Ive been a Melbourne supporter all my Australian life. I cant see that ever changing short of the club folding and then id probably reduce footy to a very passing interest.

Ill probably even retain membership , though god knows why.

I was sorely tempted after last night to find a suitable box/chest and put everything Melbourne in it and put it away . I might still. Ive had a gutful. Last night was surreal . Sat with stepson (bomber) and watched a clinical disection. We laughed ,we joked but inside i was torn apart. How has it come to this. How ? Why ? No answers came forth.

I leave on Thursday for Kathmandu . I shall enjoy the trek. Ive trained hard.Ive dropped 8kg. I have given myself the best opportunity for success .

I thought the club had too. Its not working.

After Nepal ill convalescent in Dubai. Whilst experiencing the solitude of the desert sands I will attempt to ignore all things footy.This to enjoy the trip and to stay sane.

This club will do your head in...time and time again. I need space.

And Roost It, I'm in all the way. I know it will take time, perhaps a long time, to turn things around but I will be there. We are going to learn a lot about our list and when things start to improve it will mean so much more to us, the loyal supporters. When we talk about football, we get the right to say "we".

the point of disagreement here for mine is you paint it as though this was all incidental and part of our success .

Problem is we have had NO success...not a skerrick !!

We suck. Not one of us deserves all of this perpetual pain of dissappoiintment.

The Melbourne Football club is more than the current team, or admin or Football Department it is 150 years of history, the foundation of the AFL Football, all the former players, every member and former member of the club from the bootstrappers to the cheer squad to the volunteers, the billets, the bugler as well as all of the fans. The club is more than the team, for the record a president who fought cancer and fought for youth in a public way is far from soft, the way the club adopted a young Barassi after his father was killed was far from soft, the way the club rallied around Trisha Broadbridge was far from soft. The way the club responded to racism allegations was far from soft, the way we dumped Energy watch was far from soft! 12 premierships is far from soft. This club is so much more than what is going on right now on field.

it seems far more appropriate now. This is why I support our club, you may hate the current players, admin or FD, you may hate all three! But the reality is that our role as supporters is to be the caretakers of this club, the most important, oldest, foundation club of the AFL. We need to hold those who are running its name through the dirt to account and demand better performance from those who have the honour of representing the red and blue, but this is acknowledged, the admin, FD and players all know it isn't good enough. The reality is 17 teams will lose every year, we have to make ourselves relevant enough that the wheel can turn.The booing in round one was a kneejerk reaction of a stunned supporter group, but now we as the supporters of this club need to show our true character.

I remember watching in disgust as Richmond fans spat on their players and coach, chanted obusive slurs at their own players, drove a truckload of manure to their own club, this is not how you support a club, and so it is with a large amount of hatred I watch their current transformation into an allegedly "great club with great supporters". Nothing could be further from the truth, they showed their true character and now it is our turn. We all know our stereotypes, disinterested, off to the snow, fair weather supporters. Now more than ever is our time to stick fat, to show the players, coaches and admin what the red and blue really means, what the honour they have inherited should inspire in them. Of course some on here are done, they can't stand it any more and I don't begrudge them that, we all understand. But I will be going to training and urging on the players, going to the games barracking for the players. Because even if every person currently employed at our club is incompetent, the MFC is so much more important than them, and it is our job as supporters to remember that, to carry it with us and make sure the MFC survives.
