Has anyone heard anything of Todd Viney and Neeld having to be separated after last weeks game. I know most of what Kim Hagdorn says is absolute crap but on 6pr this morning Peter Bell, Karl Langdon & Hagdorn were discussing Melbourne and Hagdorn interjected with the rumour that there was a heated exchange between Neeld & Melbournes head of recruiting Todd Viney and they had to be separated before it ended up being a something serious.

Hagdorn said Neeld is in trouble if you are falling out of favour with a member of the clubs Team of the century and they will lose tonight, next week to the Eagles and then Round 4 against the Giants who will beat them Neeld could be sacked, He then asked who do they get to coach or who would want to coach them.

As I said Hagdorn is off the mark most of the time and I am not even sure that Viney is still our head of recruiting (thought Jason Taylor was now performing this role) but Hagdorn used the name Viney after saying the clubs head of recruiting.

Has anyone heard anything along these lines

Heated arguments are not always bad.

Yes my thoughts but just surprised hadn't heard anything and everything Hagdorn reports is just a rehash of one of Caro's or Robbos articles

This has to be crap. An official of the club and also father of a new player fighting with the Coach after the first game, hardly likely.

My thoughts exactly but I just want to make sure before I bring it up next time I ring up and speak to the knobhead

Probably an arguement that started with Neeld asking why Viney didn't have triplets, so we could have had 3 JV's running around last Saturday. (Still not sure this would have helped though)

After the game Neeld looked at Jack Viney then walked over to Todd with a "Sample" cup and said "We need more".

As if we need more of this rubbish

I remember when Bailey was coaching back in 2011, we were playing like shite, viney went over to bailey and the coaches group at the huddle, and pretty much started dictating terms. He was very animated and very agitated.

Just like all of us who are emotionally connected to this club, we get very angry when our club performs pathetically. Viney is the godfather of this club, and if he thinks neeld deserves a spray, I'm all for it.

Todd is the most valuable piece on this chessboard.

This.

Scroll down to the thread titled "I chose to be the wolf: Bernard Hopkins and the "Warrior Spirit". In it I refer to a heated altercation that occurred between Matt Scarlett and Steve Johnson early in 2006. A few home truths told at a bar one night led to a few right hooks and uppercuts. Later they would patch things up and go on to lift three premiership cups.

If true, it could be good. It could be bad. But you know what? At least it's bloody well something!!

what rubbish is this?

No One sprays the coach, in public or in earshot of anyone. full stop. if it was near to this, then you go to the footy manager & the board...

Do you think viney is afraid of anyone or any club protocol?

In my eyes, viney is the boss.

Norm Smith and Ivor Warne-Smith used to require physical separation on occasion over arguments about team selection. And they were friends, passions run high, thats ok. What is more important is solidarity at the club.

if Viney did this in front of any of the matchday group he should lose his job.

that is not how a senior match official would or should act.

that would Not help anything around the club.

Todd Viney isn't the head of recruiting, so considering hackdorn couldn't even get that simple thing right I call absolute bullshite

Yeah, locked away in a selection room..

not in front of the players when the club is raw after a cleanout & players are unsure of whats going on around the place.

This is a time of great unrest, when doing the hardest job of all, changing the cultural fabric of a club.

And its the time when the Coach needs the most backup from those in the footy dept.

Todd would understand this totally & he would have also been heavily involved in the cleanout.

Wasn't he the same bloke that said Angus Monfries signed a 4 year deal with us last year??

You only do things like that out of desperation.

I wold not doubt there was a heated discussion (or argument) after the game. The game is about passion and despite Neeld's public personal the glimpse's of passion does leak out at times. Viney is the same. So in private I expect strong works and views are exchanged. if its kept in that place its okay as mentioned once the passion is focussed on task the club benefits its only a problem if it becomes personal.

Healthy debate and counter views s what all organisations need and the ones that listen thrive.

Oh so you can confirm 100% that its untrue stuie?

You can confirm it's 100% true?

No.

That's why it's called a rumour. But you go ahead and have a meltdown about it.

Posted

Well you obviously think its untrue by your comment stuie.. Again your pulling [censored] out of your ass saying we are all getting sucked in by the media when you dont even know if its true or not!

And who is having the meltdown here stuie..

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
