Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Does this mean that when we bring in a new coach we will be rebuilding a rebuild of a rebuild....WTF

Can't see how Neeld can last much longer, but replacing coaches mid season will not fix a thing. Our pathetic situation is far more than just the coach. We'd kill the career of Roos, Clarkson or Woosha, the way we are ATM.

Sack Neeld. It might not really be his fault, but it might be, but who knows, who cares at least it's something.

Sack the coach and let the players play man on man footy, and tell them to just take the game on.

Yep, because that the the meaning behind my comment...

Go pick up your teddy from the corner!

Your probably an arm chair footballer that has absolutely no idea about the game at all, go get your opinions from the Herald Sun and make out like they're your own

I'm new to this forum but I'm absolutely amazed that any supporter of our club could consider anything other than sacking Neeld this week. I'm sure he's a nice guy, I'm sure he's got a good football brain, but blind Freddie can see that even with those attributes his ability to guide and nurture this team of young players is sorely lacking.

I suspect that Neeld is just the pointy end of the problem though, I suspect that the entire administration is a hopeless rabble. Yes we have many of our best players injured. Yes they are a young squad, but playing the way they did today indicates a far deeper problem with the club's culture than inexperience and a few injured players.

If this club was a business turning over $40 mil, and skilled and talented employees were performing the way our players are, you'd sack the CEO and probably the operations manager. There's no leadership at board or operational level. If your workers don't want to turn up to work every day and underperform as a result, look to management for the answers.

Neeld has to go, probably McClardy as well, there's no option, absolutely none.

What if we bring in a new coach and start winning? whoever hired Neeld should go hide under a rock if that happens.

No he won't he will be on the tele as usual telling us it's not his fault. As I said elsewhere Lyon was a good footballer but has no idea about football.

Ive been against quick decisions because I dont think it achieves anything. But today was the straw which broke the camels back. Tough decisions need to be made. The players had no desire or passion and there are no excuses for not being ready to fire from first bounce. Peter Jackson is no fool and knows the decision on the coach is going to have to be made now!

And furthermore, I've been a loyal supporter of this club for 55 years, I've seen one flag when I was 12 years old. Most of you on this forum, loyal supporters all I presume, wouldn't have had that previlige. As a supporter group we are ultimately responsible for what's occurring right now with the Dees. We are critical but probably inactive as well. We all hear the jokes about Melbourne supporters, up the snow, range rovers etc, etc. there is of course an element of truth about that, we're only passionate when things are either good or bad, we care less at other times.

The membership and supporters need to address this, but not with anger, don't crucify Neeld or McClardy (hands up who wants either job), find other people to do their jobs yes, but thank them on the way out (the door).

If we want our club to succeed we need to forget the Stynes years, forget the Barrassi years, and look to the future with exceptional personell and a clear vision. Haven't had that for a long time.

Terry Wallace talked of the players smelling a dead duck coach, he felt that with the Tiges. Same thing here.

No more. I was all for waiting til the end of the year for the inept one to go.

But I cannot take this soul destroying rubbish any longer.

Get rid of this useless excuse ridden garbage heap of a coach NOW!!!!

I can't honestly believe that after today we can find a single reason for keeping Neeld.

I was happy to sack him later in the year, but this team is now at breaking point. No good will come from keeping this coach for weeks on end with a death sentence shadowing his every move.

You're like a broken record WYL, your spelling is mediocre, I'm actually getting more optimistic the further we get into the season

It is only you and a few others on this Board that are wallowing, like I said wish I had a graphic of a person sitting at a keyboard with a rain cloud above their head, then you and your fellow wallowers could just post that and not the repetitive nonsense you keep posting......put yourself up for President like I said before, start a petition or shut up about Don McLardy, its boring

I assume you meant Watts about freezing, you judging him in comparison to your playing days?

I think it's safe to say that your first line sums up your knowledge of the game. Edited by Return to Glory

Sadly, its time to agree.

The experiment started last year. There has been nothing since that time that gives ANY indication that the experiment will succeed.

2 provisos:

  • what effect would sacking Neeld have on the players? They are at rock bottom now; just might be enough to finish them
  • what has been the effect of the never-ending dramas on the individuals at the club. As Jackson said, it might be deep

ED. Is there a crisis meeting at the club tonight? If not, there should be. As Jackson said: supporters want to know what the hell is going on

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
