Clarkson is a better coach than Neeld, so yes. However an important consideration is the stability of the club. Sacking Neeld would be extremely instabalizing, so it would have to be a measure of last resort.

I agree, but I also agree with what Mark Robinson is saying on 360 at the moment - as much as I hate Robbo.

Flop me dead. This is like asking if Justin Leppitsch should ask Sofia Vergara out on a date. We are a festering toilet bowl at the moment and if we could click our fingers tomorrow and have Clarkson coach our Round 2 game and onwards it would be the greatest development this club has seen since writing the rules of the game. If there was any chance of this happening at the end of the season, we'd have to throw everything at him. No doubt we'd hire Jason Akermanis instead if his PowerPoint blew the interview panel away.

He has got them up there consistantly and has a record of rebuilding that club from the bottom on up.

Roos and Clarkson are proven rebuilders.

Paul Roo's would be the pinnacle, but Clarkson would be a good get.

Personally, I am not for untried coaches, it was a risky move - it's not like we were in such a position to make such a move.

He coached me for a while. He is one aggressive lad, and it is his way or the highway. Doesn't matter if you are the number one goal scorer, if you give attitude, you are on the bench.

Proven v. Unproven coaches is a separate issue and worthy of separate thought at another time. I'll grant you that. For the moment however we have experienced coaches ( Refer Craig /Rawlings ) but its the blokes who pull on the boots who essentially determine the outcome. They were woeful yesterday IMO and they have nowhere to hide.

Agreed. Any change of coach would only happen in a Lyon-esque under-the-table smoke and daggers behind the windows type of deal. We would be absolutely insane to sell our house without having another already lined up. We'd be pretty likely to end up homeless if we did.

If you think Neeld will be shown the door now, ie, after round one, then you need to "get it" Hardnut. Let me remind you, it is round 1. It's not going to happen. I am fully aware how bad we have been for many years, but getting rid of Neeld is not a good thing to do now or in 4 weeks. It will fix nothing, particularly as AC has refused $1mill p/a for 5 yrs from us already. Lets be calm for a minute. Round 1. Just over a third of the way though MNs contract. Yep, there is always someone willing to take a job, but we're not after just anyone, are we? I get it, but I'm not going to agree that we should throw the baby out with the bath water. Sure, lets all vent a little, show some emotion at a big loss, but that should not cause us to stray from the course. If you think the situation is "much more serious", then you need to take a holiday for a while until things settle down and the lynching mob leave.

What rock did you crawl out from? Can you read? The experts almost always said Neeld was a very good coach-in-waiting before his appointment. Anyone who has been coached by him or who supervised his coaching has praised him. Do you not remember that we threw the bank at Clarkson and he wouldn't budge. Roos virtually laughed at us, and has been a strong MFC critic for a long time. And as for Mark Harvey, bwahahaha! The guy can barely make a 3 word sentence.

One thing I will agree with you is that you definitely are wrong.
