totally agree as to why we've been toilet water, my comment about supporters was referencing all the drivel (IMHO) I have heard about players from supporters of all clubs, and that I don't think the MFC is particularly afflicted with daft supporters beyond the standard mean.

I would say that 'the same passion created by five years in the bottom 6 with two last finishes.' has revealed a surprising level of stoicism and a justified level of cynicism amongst our supporters.

That said, I'm on my second marriage, so am a proven optimist, and can add myself to the daft supporter list.

and Tom Hawkins took how long ? He doesn't get forever, I'd agree with that, but some just take that little longer, I wish he was tearing it apart but the coach is prepared to stick with him I will too for another season.

I don't expect J Watts to be a match winner every game - I would like to see some consistancy from him, i think if he can develop that this year he's got a shot at being a pretty handy player.

I think we'll look back on 2007-2011 as the greatest wasted opportunity in this clubs history and be amazed that we got some things so right (debt reduction, finance, move to AAMI stadium) and some things so horribly wrong - recruitment.

It hardly follows that Watts will suddenly take his pathway, especially when they're very different players. And courage wasn't Hawkins' problem. His problem was belief. Watts doesn't believe either. bookmark the thread, if he doesn't turn it on this year you can serve a big dose of 'i told you so' and i'll cop it sweet. That said I'm not sure it makes a difference what the problem is, just whether he can get past it. I think your right that he's a bit timid, I just think if he still has the support of the coach then we might see this change.

As for the list, if Sydney can do it we can too, (and I would vote for Neeld to be on the banner forever if that happens).

I went to my first GF in 1960 as a boy.

Does that give you a clue?

Will we see another flag in our time?

In fact I don't expect to now.

I will be happy for us to be a regular finals team and a powerful club.

For the last few years we have been irrelevant.

I would love us to rise above that so I can go to the football and expect to win 90% of the time.

That is the best I can imagine.

This means there is a total of 7 wooden spoons to be split between the two clubs. The decision is made by a coin toss, and the opportunity to do so is auctioned off to the public, with the MFC being the beneficiary (as compensation for being the last club to play Essendon). This raises approximately $100 million, which propels the Dees to the top of the rich clubs table. Essendon trade out all of their players at the end of season, bring in an entirely new list, and then get done for tanking. Collingwood get fined $1 billion, which means they are eternally in debt, and can't afford to pay their players, who have to work for a living while training. Consequently Collingwood get thrashed every game for several decades ...

If anything it has shown how quickly teams can change/develop (Brisbane)
