Rory Taggert And Michael Evans

Whats everyones thoughts on these two especially with those that have been going down to training. both will basically be like new recruits if thy can keep there body right?

I recall Evans being really impressive in the first couple of games he played and thought he could be a beauty for us. the coaching department rate him very highly as it seems too.

Only time I seen taggert play was against box hill and he was very impressive 25 disposals plus 2 goals that game and showed a lot of flair and excitement.

Thoughts?

Was against the Saints in rd 9 2011 at Etihad and picked up about 27 touches. He looked like he belonged but his disposal was a bit suspect.

Evans has had some major issues with his back but if its ok and he can get out on the ground this year he will be a good un. Pace, good skills and goes in; you can teach someone how to improve their kicking.

Providing they are over their injuries, I think they'll both be very good. I really rate Evans.

I was at that match. Yes, he got a lot of touches, but Saints didn't bother manning up on him at all. Presumably because he did no damage when he got the ball.

I certainly hope he succeeds, but I don't think you could read much into his performance that day.

Regardless of the fact that he wasn't tagged, I think it was a great effort for an 18 year old on debut. Evans will ease into the season but I'd expect to see him sooner rather than later. He had a real impact when he played at Casey last year, and that was on the back of no pre-season and missing so much footy. Evo kicked goals and found the footy. Neeld and co rate him highly.

Taggert is fit and raring to go. He has been told he will get an opportunity in the NAB Cup and it's up to him from there. A few games a senior level and a solid year at Casey in 2013 would give him a good base for 2014.

I reckon Evans will become a very handy player for us - an opinion shared by Schwab and Craig, who said as much at a recent Debt Demolition Dinner.

Essentially they said if he can get his body right, he'll be a bloody good player. Has the skills and the pace. They also liked Tynan.

No idea about Taggert.

I've never seen Taggert play, but I have heard comparisons to Dangermouse, and that can only be a good sign if he lives up to them.

Evans could be a great player or he could wind up another D. Bell. Only time will tell if he can make the grade or simply look like someone who should be making the grade.

Taggerts debut is one of the things I'm looking forward to most this season. In the game he played in the magoos he really looked like he belonged playing senior footy and was one rung below dominant. Can't wait!
