We are very quick to point out Rivers and Petterd as being Geelong and Richmond players now, but it's worth remembering they are yet to play a game at those clubs. The wider footy public still associates their behaviour as stemming from MFC culture, particularly since they were hanging out with drunk current MFC players in bay 13.

Poor judgement by Chip, Howe and Dunn.

its as simple as... One bloke has a dedication to doing his utmost to be the best he can an also has ability to pick and choose where and when might be opportune to watch in public.

nothing to do with whether he has interest in cricket of not as the result to the "silly fellow's outing" was all about where and how ( npi ) they did it.

they could have easily sat in the members had they wished. but NO...they yobbed it !!

some have sense not to put themselves in harms way..others dont.

They should be able to sit were ever they please, there on holidays, no charges have been laid, are you a Doomsday Prepper?

are you an idiot ??

they are at all times, like it or not ( as takers of a very large paycheck ) representing not only themselves but the MFC. They have a duty of respect to that job to uphold.

Nice trolling btw

Bingo. Morality and tut-tutting has nothing to do with this. If you want to smash beers down till you are paralytic, do it on your uncle's farm on a yabbying trip. Don't do it where everyone can see you.

Maybe Colin.

But why do you think footy players aspire to be AFL players? Attention & accolades.. they scored 50/50.

good judgement comes from learning & improves with success, & success initially dissolves stress.

stress is a killer of good behaviour, & we have plenty of stress at the club atmo, without the cheer of success.

you're a joke..seriously.

We can see what transpired. As to what lead up to it, another thing and somewhat irrelvant.

They got [censored] and ejected. They made the news and front page. Which bit of this escapes you.

Being 23 yo is an excuse for ??? Answer ....nothing.

btw..I dont wear knickers.

I did, im not calling people idiots, i dont abuse people, he gets what he deserves, i think they should be able to sit were they want, you not what people are like they were probably trying to get under the boys skin all day, they didnt get charged with anything, BB crapping on about what was written in the HS saying there guilty because its in the HUN, yet in the tanking threads he says the papers should be burned at the cross, the guys delusional.

It doesn't matter what they get paid........We are all entitled to have a few days over Christmas/New year where we can let our hair down don't we?????.....They train, play, very hard all the rest of the time but are not allowed to go to the cricket and have a few beers????....Did they get into a brawl?????......Did they put lives in danger by drink driving????...Did they belt some innocent bloke and break his jaw????.....No.....Can't belive all the fuss....

you are right. BUT these actions put the MFC on the front page of the morning rag. Something it could do without considering this year.

It's not a huge offence but it is very unnecessary.

I hope these guys don't miss games because of it. Then it does become important.

The MFC needs wins ASAP.

A fair few witnesses have said how pi55ed they were, and you don't make beer cup snakes and throw cups at people if you're drinking tea...

Personally i thinks its funny, as boys will be boys , so let them have a bit of fun.

I reckon they may get a fine and possibly Frawley removed from the leadership group

So that would be the litmus...getting charged ?? Not making a public spectacle of yourself ??

Again nice trolling. I have made no mention of it being the HUNS doing. You 're attempting that straw. Give up. We can see through you .

What the HUN has done is neglect to properly identify the allegiance of the players !!

The court of public opinion has made it decision upon the stupidity of the boys actions. irrelevant to the paper.

You yourself acknowledge that where they sat opened them up to day long ribbing and attempts to get under their skin. Guess what ..IT DID !! who'd da thought ??

Well any one with a modicum of common sense might have foreseen that one

There seems a dearth of comprehension by some as to the reality that these "paid employees of the club " actually have a certain responsibility to that club in the manner they carry themselves in public ESPECIALLY maybe the very place they call their home the "G" This again goes to decision making. They failed.

No one disputes a right to a few days off. This isn't about having time off. It's about making a d!ck of yourself in public and bringing shame and notoriety upon yourself and your club.

........ it's the fact that they put themselves in a position where they could end up with bad press. Even if it is a complete media beatup - which I'm sure it is - it's really not that hard to stay out of the newspaper if you keep your brain engaged.

It's just a disappointing lack of judgement for mine.

I agree its just plain dumb and a poor lack of judgement.

If you are an AFL player it IS hard to stay out of the newspaper....Where ever you go the media is not far behind....It's a pity they have to hide to prove the're human or to be allowed to have Christmas cheer like we do in public......No arrests.....no charges.....Just told to go home...

They certainly dont have to prove they're bogans.

There are many ways of showing that you are human just dont exhibit that lower end of the gene pool when you do it.

Stuie, you were given a repeat warning for name calling. It was as simple as that. And its not a first offence in that area.

Of course they can sit where ever they want, and drink what ever they want, same as you and I. And once they have had too much they will be kicked out same as you and I. Difference is you and I wont make front page news tarnishing the brand name of our employer.

For what its worth I agree, who cares, they got drunk and got kicked out of the MCG, we all know it dosnt take much to get kicked out. But it is what it is. Weather or not they should be allowed to get [censored] at the cricket without making news is a seperate issue. Fact is if any player from any AFL club is caught in public drunk making an idiot out of himself it will make the papers, so dont let it happen.

If you want to get on it with the boys at the cricket in the off season, come play for Yarra with Fev for $2000 a game. But if your gonna stick you hand out for the big AFL dollars then thats the trade off.

All unintentional im sure.

Probably just wanted to have a nice day at the cricket, but whoops 8 or 9 beers later good judgement goes out the window,

Some beer is accidentally spilt on a spectator in front and all of a sudden its on!

Don't see how that relates to the topic RR, I was merely cautioning my fellow posters to steer clear of what got me sucked in and now you're having a go at me in this thread? Pretty poor mate.

Exactly. So why you had to raise a fictitous claim about why you were warned in the thread is puzzling. If you still dont understand why you were once again warned then PM me. Otherwise focus on your own variable behaviour.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
