Herald Sun reports Gysberts to be shot out of a cannon...Mark Stevens has gone mad!!!

With two weeks to run until the start of the free agency period and in the absence of any concrete evidence of anyone going anywhere, the HS has reported that Melbourne utility/Casey list clogger/Demonland official mascot has been told that he will be shot out of a cannon.

The decision was made by HS football writers, in consultation with the AFL's website, who feel that it will provide adequate space filler in the 'Department of Trades' next to the bombshells that Malthouse is looking for some new assistants (Rumour Rater: 'Maybe') and that Nathan Jones' hair is naturally receding (Rumour Rater: 'He's Gawn!').

And anyway, it will tie in nicely with the 'This is Greatness' theme. Tim Rogers has been lined up for the ad.

Matthew Bate and Lyndon Dunn are reportedly disappointed that they didn't get the call.

Already, Demonland has been lit up with calls to lock the thread, lest it get any responses, or provokes a poll.

How the F# does Tim Rogers, the wanna be Keef, get a look in?

Surely Kate Cebrano could do that job, as well as all the others

OMG. This is devastating, can this REALLY be happening?

Is he going to do it at a fairground? Followed by Lucas Cook trying to jump a line of cars on a motorbike.

This is September. This is 'my team's not playing finals again'. This is the last straw. This is going through the list and cutting every second name. This is 'my mate heard his brother's manager's mum says he's going to Footscray'. This is fan forums questioning the commitment of fringe players who can't kick. This is best and fairest speeches indicating buy in. This is 'if you don't want to be on that straight line go to Carlton, go wherever'.

This is shooting blokes out of cannons.

You mean the wanna be Keef that went to a private school and grew up quite priviledged and is now faking being from the wrong side of the tracks Tim Rodgers. Another fake of the same perverted genre is dear old Nick Cave, Caulfield grammer I believe.

Crikey so I should only have music by genuine working class types cause only they can be authentic. Sheesh..off to throw out CDs by Gram Parsons, Townes VanZandt, The GoBetweens and the Triffids to name a few...

Kudos to Nick Cave & Tim Rogers for never selling out and consistently making good rock n roll.

I'd be up for a fan trade with North. Our noted talk back caller Chris from Camberwell goes to North in a straight swap for North's Tim Rogers. North get much needed SEN tallback presence and we get additional music cred to add to the likes of David Bridie and Ella Hooper.

Hey they can keep Tim Rodgers. We've already got Andrew Cox from the great Melbourne band, The Fauves.

Indeed. Last saw The Fauves a few years back at the Weddoes Grand Final Eve Show.

Still think Rogers could 'add to the mix'.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
