We are easy targets & will get trampled on from behind our backs until we create a culture that is worthy of a tight unifying bunch of hard nosed footballers.

It does start at the very top lets remember. I just spoke to a relative of McLardy who said that Don is gutted & angry about what has happened after all of the man hours and $$$ the club has put into Liam. I dont expect to see any of this in a press conference but thought I'd share the info with you.

Im glad he is going. He is a distraction the club doesnt need and he doesnt have the work ethic to fit into NELDS plan. Get what we can and wear the loss. Yet to see any remote players not do this. I think other clubs will stop recruiting guys from remote parts as the risk outweighs the gain. Its a shame.

Not sure parma why you and others think we can get anything for LJ

I don't reckon Adelaide will take the risks involved.

Port will they don't have much to lose.

He can go into the draft no one outside of SA will be interested.

Port can select him with a late round pick and take the chance he beats the court case, stays fit and wants to play.

Not sure the club saw this coming, well at least today. Why would they put an article about his Court date on the club site and still have no response to the announcement?

That article is an AFL.com article attributed to us.

Posted

Why the hell does the web site still have the trial date story up with the picture of LJ in that stupid boody Blazer

perhaps theyre reminiscing ?? lol

Oh please that is uncalled for and way over the top

just a tad

If Jurrah turns up at port Adelaide next year, after walking out on us...... And we receive nothing in return, than he is the biggest dog going around!!!!

We gave him time off to go north and sort out some family issues......and he sh1ts in our face....... We support him through he's court case and now he just walks!!!

Just mentioned on SEN, with more to follow, that Jurrah has quit the club. If this is the case a sad day for the club. All the best Liam, thanks for the great couple of years!

You all know he's my favorite Melbourne player. A sad day for me. He's not only a brilliant player when in full flight but an obvious drawcard for any SA club.

I know he states Family as the main issue. Hope it's not the start of a trail of good needed players leaving the Dees. A Coach with more Charisma may have helped. What chance do we have of enticing Cloke, Boak or Goddard types not to mention the best young draftees. Bugger we missed the boat with Malthouse and Lyon.

Recently in Adelaide Liam has been in contact with Dean Bailey, whom he shares a good relationship with. It was suggested to me that this is where he will be playing next year.

I was having lunch today in Clarendon St South Melbourne. Eddie McGuire came out of the Coffee Club, 5 minutes later I saw Liam Jurrah walk past into Coles nextdoor.

Now I got no idea if that's coincidence or not. McGuire works at Triple M so he's often around, but never seen Liam before.

Anyway he probably will try to get into a SA club, but I think he should have at least given us the option for a trade.

I've been a strong supporter of Jurrah on this site. Howver, I not going to join the "well played, sorry to see you go club" . In view of the chance we initially gave him and the continued support through injury and other matters, His behaviour is disgraceful. I now hope he drops of the scene completely.

Actually he wasnt treated with kid gloves; he was put out to run around ovals endlessly on his own.

Not once did the tough man in charge speak about him as far as I recall and on that alone its no suprise that the lure of family is strong for a bloke so far out of his natural comfort zone.

If there was ever a player who should have been given latitude from the 'toughen up of F off ' it was LJ.

Frankly Neeld is batting zero at present...10 games from Clark who is good but how good over time we dont yet know, and Jones was clearly on the improve before the new regime took power. Watts is same old same old same old. Howe still cant kick straight and we cant even beat Port any more..... No contract coz he was making a statement...goodbye LJ and Riv for nought

You're blaming this on Neeld? Seriously? FFS our supporters can be utter morons some times - how about recognising the historical issues Liam had to deal with? How about some responsibility for the fact he has "allegedly" hacked someone in the head with a machete? This was a no-win situation for Neeld & the club, no matter what they did they would have been potted in a situation not of their own making.

I feel a little angry inside and im not sure why. I get he needs to be closer to his family and his partner is due to give birth and its better for him to be in adelaide and he has all these other issue but I still feel a bit let down. Maybe im a little annoyed because instead of looking after his wrist he was out on the drink which got him into this mess.

It would be nice if Jurrah could help us out and do a trade so we get something rather than just walk out and into a SA club. he is out of contract.

We have done a lot to help him and I reckon we just say well we have taken you as far as we can. We shouldnt support him at his court case and should get back to focusing on this club and getting it right.

Why do you hope this of LJ? We'll never know the knitty grit ties of precisely why he left. I say good on him. If he plays for Port Adelaide then that's one for Dean Bailey!

The mere fact you're so upset reflects just how great Jurrah is. Contrary to what you say perhaps we didn't do enough to keep him.

Petterd would be breathing a sigh of releif. May mean an extra chance for him.

Also isn't Aaron Davey meant to be the indiginous ambassador at the club? How could he have not known about something like this?

how could he let it have gotten to a point where the club has no prior notice to make any type of arrangements...

Davey is not telepathic. What the hell does it have to do with Davey it is up to the Club and there support network not a fellow player to be leading the way on this. Davey would be a mate and hopefully a leader not is Dad, Mum, Nanny whatever else. Liam has shown he makes his own calls in his life, of making the journey to the city, to go back to Darwin, to leave the club and want to live in Adelaide. He wants to keep playing AFL but from Adelaide. Again what the hell does Davey have to do with it?

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
