Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

if Melbourne traded there first pick, I am sure that one cannot be outbided on the priority pick. Therefore we could get an experienced player and pick viney up later.

???? Priority or F/S???

Father/son deals are sorted out BEFORE the trade period. This has been covered at length in every JV related thread here.

I would love to see Hogan in the red and blue the the way he runs at the footy him and Mitch could decapitate all the opposition backmen.

He's a big fella already at 17Yrs.

This will sound so wrong but after seeing that picture of a teenage boy with his massive frame who doesn't picture him in a red and blue jumper and not get excited?

Different scenario.

What if we finish 15th?

What if Port lose & we win a couple, & we overtake them?

Could we still strike a deal with them for Boak? And, could they get either Toumpas or Grundy 'IF' they fall below us, depending on what Sheeds wants???

Who would we take in this scenario?

We play them GC and GWS is a big possibility.

Also the dogs who have 0 easy games to come, that is just that extra step to far though imo (3 games)

The dogs will not finish below us they are 3 games clear.

They will win another game and so will port this weekend.

GWS and GCS play again.

We are a lock for 18th,17th or 16th.

Not that i like it but we are not close to even port.

isn't Jack Martin a skinny skinny outside midfielder?

Why is he a pick 1. I would much rather a Hogan type.

If we get yet another skinny as a rake first round pick (Cook, Morton, Watts) I will give up.

Look at Pies, Geelong for clues on how to win a premiership. they have very few skinny types and are usually the last ones picked anyway.

Totally agree but you forgot the Swans , Hawks and Crows. Predominately huge bodied blokes. Take a look at the Swans last week. Pike, Mumford, Reid, Goodes, Everitt , Scott Thompson, Richards, Grundy. Midfield - Hannabury, Okeefe, Jack, Kennedy. They have a couple of outside runnners but they are elite and very sharp.

We need bigger bodies around the ground. We struggle to influence the crunch contests When we need to. Brushed off to easily. Go for strong bodied kids please.

At the game on the weekend i could not help but notice the run and carry of S.Hill this is one player that the dees really need.

Very good at spreading from the contest of modern footy and catching teams out the back of the forward press.

We could get our own S.Hill from GWS if we bid for U17 Jack Martin this would be a great pick up IMO

I wouldnt be totally against giving GWS pick 3 or 4 for Martin - in proviso they dont bid on Viney, maybe throw in a player aswell.

Other than that, I see a bit of Hill in Garlett - who is quick, breaks the lines, beautiful kick and also has size - massive plus.

We could get Garlett at 12-13 and that would probably make more sense than getting Martin.

I think Garlett will be gone by pick 10.

Each year i get around to the under 18 carnival and i watch a fair amount of TAC cup footy.

I reccon I am a preety good judge of young players this easy said once they have been drafted

But In 09 i was praying we picked up Lewis Jetta at pick 12 we got Gysberts and 2010 was also once again hoping for Darling but we got Cook

This year if we keep all our picks i hope it looks like this

Pick# 3 I am torn betweenBen Kennedy and Oliver Wines Pick# 4 Jesse Stringer forget his injury will be a star.

Pick #13 Dayle Garlett and the next pick what ever it may be #20 Jack Viney

I thought Port were decent early in the year but they have started to drop away pretty badly, while we were completely terrible at the start of the year but look more competitive now. I still think Port will win up in Darwin, but I wouldn't be suprised if we beat them. And then with GC and GWS to go we are every chance of going past them imo.

Hi there Ash i see you dont have Toumpas in there which seems highly unlikley.

Why dont you rate him?

A loss this week would do our draft situation a deal of good... and cement 16th position. Pick 3 & 4!

Oh god, here we go again, i will never barrack for a demon loss again ever!

We need a winning culture, win win win!

I do rate Toumpas, the hip is a worry though, going for Stringer and Toumpas is very risky so if i had to pick one guy with an injury history I would lean towards Stringer.

Geez Hogan looks like a tank.

any got an footage?

Tried to find footage but could only find a bloke who is balding, ripping his shirt off and then throwing some very ordinary and suspicious punches at a sgt.slaughter character. But in all seriousness I want that Hogan kid to be a demon. He is ready made to play next year the kid is a beast and out weighs Jack Watts who is older then him. He needs to work on his set shots but he doesn't need to work on his attack on the ball. He is a nutcase when the ball is in the air and is more then happy to throw his weight around. With Mitch and Hogan the bodies would hit the floor! I don't mean this in a bad way he is the exact opposite to Watts. Watts has awesome skills and footy smarts but is skinny and not a pack mark player. Hogan isn't polished but he is a wrecking ball who takes a grab.

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
