Absolutely. More bums on seats. If 30,000 Demon members and 10,000+ Victorian AFL supporters don't turn up for this one i will be suprised.

You've gotta be kidding me.

If I wasn't a Melbourne supporter there's no way I'd consider going to this game.

I dunno some might mistake it for part of the Comedy Festival and show up !!!!

Spot on, we're actually going to be lucky to get 15 K to this game I reckon. There were 2 matches in Melbourne the whole weekend just gone and Dogs v Port drew 16 K.

Unbelievably the AFL have managed to schedule 4 of 6 matches in Melbourne this weekend and the NM v Adelaide game is on at the same time. On top of this the weather forecast is ordinary and we are following on from Queens Birthady where some of our 'supporters' would have already shown up for their only game of the year.

Am I the only Melbourne supporter who doesn't go to the snow, at all.

I went to the snow once and skied into a tree, never been back!

The folks predicting 35k-40k for this game are in la la land.

23k at the absolute maximum.

Absolutely. What about the ones predicting 50,000 ! What land do they reside in ?

30,000 MAX

im expecting around 20-25,000 which isnt all that bad really considering the ladder position with an interstate team that has 3 supporters

Whilst it's not quite like Carey/Crows vs Archer/Roos, for an avid footy fan that likes the potential for a bit of spite and vitriol, I consider it rather appealing.

I expect these people to make up at least 10% of the crowd.

Not kidding.

As far as stereotypes go, the snow's a pretty good one. I'm a rubbish snowboarder but I'm there most winters with the thousands of other people loving life. How can you not dig the snow? The snow is amazing.

Won't be seeing me in a landrover though. You bunch of soccer mums.

MItch Clark is way ahead of Scully and with the compo picks it has turned out rather well for us

Scully will probably be a gun all the same though, few more pre-seasons and he could be something else entirely. But then I'd put Jack Viney in the same basket as well, I'd love to see those two play on each other come to think of it.

I want to see Melbourne trade for players with more hardness and See You Next Tuesday in them as opposed to yet another fancy twinkle-toes player like Scully or in the past those like Cam Bruce. Magner has been a revelation, Tapscott is a brute and Mitch is not the shy and retiring type either - these guys win you finals.

Meh, Sheeds being Sheeds.

Oh, and I went to the snow once when I was 9.... with my family who all support Collingwood.

Ha! Sheedy! you old bastard! You have to admit he is great for the game!

He is egotistical and full of BS but don't let that fool you. He and Choco have done a fantastic job at GWS. They have instilled something in the players already that we and Mark Neeld realise is desperately short at the Dees. They play with real desperation and belief. As much as we may rail against the formation of this club and their aggressive recruiting, they will flourish. Yes, they got Scully, but his loss was the least of our problems. Due to draft concessions they will also have a list which far outstrips us for talent. Whether we like it or nor we are going to have to get used to playing against a very talented and hard-at-it side. I pray that we beat them on Sunday.

The MFC should release a statement after a survey of members.

MFC dispels rumours of snow going activities amongst supporters.

After surveying its members , the Melbourne football club has found that less than 15% of its members go to the snow on a regular basis.

Only 29% had been to the snow at all, in any capacity.

This should put an end to anyone associating us with the snow ever again.

We can now point to the survey results of our member base to once and for all dispel the myth.

I think you are very close to the mark BB

The thing about this tread that surprises me is the number of people who have taken the bait.

Sheedy throws out a line to bait us and wham in we come calling him all the names under the sun.

He is doing his job beautifully.

This will be IMO a close run thing.

GWS is a better side in their first year than many thought.

On the other hand the Dees are very ordinary.

Richmond easily accounted for us and they struggled with GWS

I expect we will win but not by much, 5 points is my prediction.

God help us if we lose.

Sheedy will not be able to stop laughing for a week

Good on Sheeds for trying to whip something up

The snow report is not that promising anyway

Better later in the season when conditions are better.

wont be there working as usual but hope to be able to catch the game on the screen

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
