The Gys has played 20 minutes of footy all season. Barring any further injury problems, he will play at least a month at Casey to get his match fitness up, maybe even longer and I wouldn't think would be looking at a call up until at least round 18 or so.

If he can get a solid half dozen games in for the demons at the back end of the season then I reckon that is the best scenario for him to launch into 2013 at full fitness.

Strauss is in a similar boat.

Is the "every club can nominate one rookie after Round 11" rule additional to that? We could maybe nominate Sheahan.

Not sure if it's additional, I found it hard enough getting the rules as it was! But to what end would we nominate Sheahan? As I understand it he's been playing for Casey as a defender, what would we get out of playing him that we couldn't get from playing Troy Davis who is already on the senior list and has been in form?

With Bartram and Frawley shoo-ins if fit, you'd have to feel for whoever is dropped to make way for them after such a great team effort on the weekend.

Frawley - yes, probably for Green with Tappy to move forward: Bartram - how long since he has played at any level? Wouldn't rush him back.

And still little detail about Sam Blease -- was it a groin strain or some sort of corky from the master of kneeing? How is it going? Anyone been able to get to training this week?

Batram, Frawley, Bail, Jurrah, Gysberts, Davey, Martin and Petterd all not involved in that great win last week. Not a bad group of players at all

Frawley - gun, Jurrah - unique talent but not reliable. Bail - could of been handy. Gysberts, Davey, Martin, Petterd, Bartram - none of these guys were at all missed. The only benefit from a smaller injury list is that top line players feel the need to perform and the squeeze is on for a game, but with Sylvia, Davey and Green all dropped so far this year I hope no one who plays for Melbourne thinks they are safe

In the interview with Misson on the MFC website he says that Blease just got a really decent cork right on the pubic bone and it is just a matter of the pain subsiding and being able to run freely. With the longer break he expects Blease to be fit to play but will be dictated by training on Friday.
