Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Patrick Dangerfield ... Let's get him!

This is the guy we should make a serious play for with our compo pick/2012 draft position clout.

22yo, out of contract and just beginning to hit his straps. Hard at it, quick and classy. Likes a goal.

HUN article reports that Geelong and the Bombers are circling as well. Would be a real coup of Neeld/Craig could land him. If we could effectively replace Scully with Dangerfield, that's a win in my book.

We need a ready made midfield gun now, not two more high draft picks we have to put years of development into.

...and Trenners could give him a big welcoming tackle at our first practice match :-)

I'd absolutely love to see Dangerfield in the red and the blue. He's just what we need.

It'd also be great to land a player like Dangerfield in circumstances where other so-called 'bigger' clubs are keen to get his signature. That, in itself, makes a strong statement.

Give them our two priority picks, give him a million dollars a year and make him captain

Clark last year, Dangerfield this year... yeah, I could live with that; as someone else mentioned in another thread, didn't he come back and kick 6 goals the week after the Trengove incident?

Interesting he made the point about "keeping your players happy" - a point severely lost on many around here who bag our players on a weekly basis.

Sadly it would be difficult to see why he would want to come to us - unless the relationship with Craig is as strong as reported, but is that his big motivating factor.

If Geelong are interested, they'd have a much better chance of getting him, depending on what they are willing to give up.

What I mean is, it would be his preferred destination, being a Geelong boy.

I wouldn't call Him a 'Gun' yet, but he's starting to mature.

Too many Jacks, time for a Patrick.

As long as Craig doesn't have any influence as to where he plays on the park. ;) Why he insisted on having him collect dust in the forward line I'll never know. Tremendous outside player and would be an asset to any team. Showed last week his ability to dominate a game on his own terms. Would be wrapped to get him but I'd be surprised to see many players leave the Crows. They're a young team on the rise and seem a pretty tight group.

Maybe Endurance, he may have wanted him to learn the forwardplay whilst his body was building & endurance base was building. He is a burst player.

#Edit a little in the mold of Gary Rohan, burst player.

Go all out to get him, regardless of what other clubs offer. Just like we did for Mitch Clark - if the coach needs to go and sleep in some dodgy motel - just go and make a play for him.

We need his pace.

We need his skill when at pace.

We need his hunger for the ball.

We need his exctiement factor.

A potential game breaker and match winner who is in the mould of Coliln Sylvia but not so flighty or inconsistent.

Sure WE need him - but the big question is - does HE need us?

Kid will be to scared to even come to training with captain Trengove running around.

Kid would be scared to play at the MCG in-front of 20,000-30,000 old people most of them screaming & bagging your team mates - it would be like playing in a cemetery.

Then after the game you have to listen to these old "brighton" gits with no idea about football, no idea what footy is like today - Yeah a wake at the OAP bowls club.

Think we need a massive shift quickly.

...not necessarily. I know a few people who are really happy to have got out of Geelong (though most still support the Cats).

offer him $1m per season. He's an absolute gun. 22 years old. hard midfielder with elite pace and skill and can kick goals. We're not paying anyone else, why not use our free cash on a young gun. Also pay-back for Scott Thompson.

offer adelaid 2 priority picks.

Add Viney + Dangerfield to our midfield next year would make an instant impact.

This midfield actually resembles a decent looking midfield: Trengove, Viney, Dangerfield, Moloney, Sylvia, McKenzie, Magner, Jones and Gysberts.

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
