I agree with the Master about Panozza and Lees but I think the so-called "drug" issue is not a major one. As I understand it, he took some supplements and wasn't aware of their precise content. Doesn't sound like a major case to me.

Yeah forgot to put it in commas myself. Certainly not a major case and he's not guilty of much, but either way he has to get the case out of the way before anyone could consider drafting him.

Thanks for the player info guys. Be good to see how Taggert comes along and it looks like Sheahan was a good rookie pick for us, a bit of inside info helped there.

It's probably time that Sam Blease had a run of senior games maybe in the next couple of weeks he can push up and like Tommy Mc we may see what he has to offer.

Just to clarify the Bennell "hurt" issue. The last quarter lasted for over 35 minutes and when Goldstein kicked NB's last goal I thought it was all over. Bennell went to the edge of the square and sprinted flat out at the ball when it was bounced collecting a NB player on the way. I've not seen him throw his body in like that before and it took him a while to recover. He did and was the one who then forced it forward about 30 seconds later.

Blease's final goal came from a free, initially to a NB player wide at HF. The ump called play on when the NB player tried to milk the clock and Blease nabbed the NB player from behind and got paid the free kick. He then just calmly slotted it and the game was all over. Smart thinking from the opportunist and fantastic conversion.

I watched the game from the outer wing and when you read observers opinions you need to recognize that Casey is a large ground with a big camber and little elevation for spectators. It's difficult to see what's happening on the other side of the ground. Blease seemed to mainly play on the grandstand side of the ground today (opposite to me)and so I missed a lot of the reported chasing and tackles. But what Sam does is play like a millionaire. It's chocolates or boiled lollies for Sammy. He took the play on and got nabbed on regular occasions and IMO until he learns to judge better when he can and when he can't do this he'll be a liability in the senior team. He has unquestionable skills by foot and his kicking for goal was terrific. He's not scared of physical contact but doesn't seek it. I think he has some way to go and doubt he'll get a call up next week. He's just too high risk at the moment and the turnovers he gives away negates any positives his "dash" creates. He's terrific under a Bailey game plan but for Neeld he's a square peg in a round hole (watch him be picked next week!!).

Bennell was terrific today and was very clean with his hands and attacked the ball hard. His kicking was ok but not special but his attack on the ball was good and I've not seen him get it as much. He played on a reasonable player in Campbell. He'd be right in the mix for next week.

Spencer was very competitive early but by the second half he was spent and Goldstein had a field day. Poor old Jake could hardly raise a trott at the end of the game. No disgrace, Goldstein is a very good AFL player.

The other that impressed me was Jai Sheahan. He's still got a lot of development but he won some important one on one's, took some contested pack marks and his kicking and decision making were terrific at times.

Ricky Petterd couldn't get into it up forward and played his best footy around the middle.

Jai Sheehan is going to be very good. Give him a season to develop at this level and he will be a bit of a revelation next year.

Great to hear. Couldn't believe he was over-looked in the National draft and was over the moon when he was selected in the Rookie draft.

Can see Cook and Sheahan playing a pivotal role in the forward line a few years from now.

Actually there were 2 posts about Cook and Darling before I posted, not that what I post is any of you business, so rather than ruining a "Clean Thread" as you suggested it was, I guess in your mind, already polluted. Now whether that makes it AOK with you is of little interest to me I post what I find interesting and you can suit yourself.

So if you don't want to read my posts do yourself a favour and press the ignore button, or simply bypass them, you know how to do that don't you?

BTW read posts 22 and 23 you better go and have a go at them as well I'm sure they would be as interested to hear your comments as I am.

And to answer your question Darling is a gun who can score goals on the big stage, you know what that is don't you?

Thrilled to hear about Jamie Bennell's attack on the footy. To me, he is the one of the litmus tests for Neeld's coaching. If he develops a hard edge, he will be a great player for us. If he doesn't then the test will be whether we tolerate or delist/trade. I hope it's the former.

The way Blease goes about it - the chocolates or boiled lollies - sometimes these guys prosper in the 1s. Mitch Robinson is another one like that. Totally unpredictable, erratic, but can have an impact on whether games are won or lost. In a development year, I would be happy if we gave him a bit of a shot, to see what confidence does for him.

Thanks for a good summary fan. Sam does play like a millionaire, I think there is a lot of smart arse in him that needs to be knocked out, if he has the choice he seems to like taking the harder option to show off his skills and more often than not comes undone. If he can learn to play the percentages and become a professional footballer he has the potential to be an A grader, potential is a dirty word.

Jai Sheahan can play, a really good rookie pick up. It's good for his development to play back at the moment and it will be interesting to watch his career to see where he ends up.

Ricky Petterd would be valuable in the seniors spending more time in the middle, rotating him with Howe through there so they don't get tied down up forward would add to our mid field and make our forward setup up unpredictable.

Here is a bit from me on 3 players mentioned above

Sheahan, spent half an hour with him handing out scarves before Bulldogs game, shattered when he missed the draft, not sure why thought he had had a good year, pleased to be with MFC, enjoying the VFL, needs to put on weight, learning heaps, wouldn't mind playing forward, but knows why he is playing back. Personal opinion after seeing him play, may have another gem on our hands

Cook, spoke to him at Family Day, at least 10Kg short of weight he needs to be, gets [censored] off coz he keeps picking up injuries, not helped by still growing, Club is trying to develop body at 'natural' pace. Personal again, has not lost the ability which is the reason we drafted him, 5 goals in comeback game, yes lower level but he kicked them, just wants to play and finds it funny even at his height he can be the invisible man

Lawrence, spoke to him a couple of times at training, the Club want consistent effort week in week out, concentrating on building his engine so he can pressure the whole game, note this was highlighted in one posters comments, loves to be able to sneak up on defenders and nail them, or have them looking over their shoulder for where he is, wants so much to make it. Personal opinion, think Leigh Brown wants him to make it as well, from time he nearly broke him in half 'patting' him on the back when he caused a turnover at training, if he sticks with it, could be that next small forward to shine
