Must be some issues with the training load or something, this is happening way to much to all the youngsters. Outside of Watts I can't think of a player 20 or under who hasn't been injured at least once in the last 2 years.

I thought that having Misson and his elite sports science background was supposed to reduce our number of injuries. We seem to have had more injuries in the first part of the season than we had Pre-Misson!

You can't help bone injuries, only soft-tissue injuries can be "attributed" to the fitness guys (see Essendon).

You can't help bone injuries, only soft-tissue injuries can be "attributed" to the fitness guys (see Essendon).

You can, especially foot stress fractures if you overload young bodies.

............or maybe we're being sensible and cautious in our approach to our young players' niggles to avoid complications that are completely unnecessary because we aren't on the verge of a flag.

GTG do you even know the nature of this particular injury?

How can you possibly attribute our injury list to one individual who has been at the club a little over six months?

Are you also claiming the club is in some way responsible for this injury list as they employed Misson?

Do you have a sports science background?

And now that you seem to have identified the problem (Misson) are you going to let someone at the club know?

At some point in the next two years nearly all footballers will have an injury of some sort (pssst- its a high speed collision/contact sport)

I was simply wondering why we haven't seen a decrease in injuries since hiring Misson. Misson's job is, amongst other things, to reduce injuries by buiding up fitness bases and helping to control and monitor loads. I never claimed the club or Misson were responsible for the injuries, I just made an observation. I never claimed a sports science background.

You got mighty worked up about a 2 line statement. I hope your blood stops boiling from my 'uninformed snipes'.

I'd rather have injury-free 22 year olds with 50 games experience who we were cautious with in their first couple of seasons than chronic injury-riddled 22 year olds who played injured in their first couple of seasons and can't get on the park.

Playing kids injured will cost them valuable experience in the long-run. There's no point in compounding minor injury issues for the sake of a few games of experience in their first season.

If an inordinate amount of players were going down with soft tissue injuries you may have a point... but they're not.

Do the bloody research first before casting aspersions.

So James Hird who said that Hurley's injury is so slight that it isnt even called a strain but we take the cautious approach and he will miss one to two weeks - thats soft is it ?
