Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Big Jim I grew up in East Keilor so I feel your pain / hatred of those smug fans,...god I hate Essendon!!!

I grew up in Sandringham but went to Windy Hill a number of times. I hate 'em too, but i can only imagine living amongst them daily!!

I have purposely not said anything about this previously but I am quite good friends with a close family member of Beamers. Essendon were heavily trying to get a deal done with him in last years trade week and he was very close to wanting the move, was not happy with what had been happening at the club. It was that close that his father had told family members it was nearly a done deal from his end that he wanted to go, he was not happy with the direction of the club. at the time my friend swore me to secrecy

I hope that with what has happened over the summer and even though he lost his leadership position I hope beamer sees the club is completey different from last year and heading in the right direction, I just hope we have some good on field results to support that!

Lol at the two bold parts.

Yeah mate they are at the top of the tree for me. 2000 still gives me nightmares but i went to melbourne essendon last year with a few bomber fans and my god it is fun smashing them. They were in my face all the way up till about half time was the best win for the year for me.

We dont need to lose our current best mid fullstop.

I heard that said about Brock McLean and Travis Johnstone and what happened there?

Did brock or trapper win the B&F the year they left?

Does that matter? Both Brock and TJ were rated by many as our best midfielders. The issue with Moloney and where he needs to improve has been done to death. I dont think he is must keep at all costs.

And we cant lose someone who apparently "bleeds red and blue"

Half baked, yes, but it'll still be used in contract negotiations to Beamer's advantage. And good luck to him. Love him and hope he gets a big pay day next time negotiations take place.

I have a huge amount of time for some of the older stalwarts of the club that stuck around during our absolutely appalling years... 4 years that are rightup there with Carlton of the early 2000s in terms of pain... Bruce, Green, Davey, Moloney...

I for one enjoyed reading your post. Some on here will throw their own mum under a bus as thats who they are, negative.

Keep on keeping on, and ignore some ppl. You will learn who they are and realise they are all hot air. Loud but not deadly

Here is hoping. I wouldn't have been surprised if a bunch of players left last year. Boy, the wheels fell off in a big way. If the training reports are any guide the sense of purpose and belief is back again though.

I'll never understand why people feel the need to react like this...

I'd rather read a little story then make up my own mind about whether I think it is true or not, without the original poster needed to be ridiculed.

The fact is if you lose your best players you dont win premierships. Beamer needs to stay and become our 4th or 5th best midfielder. Picks like Magner and Couch become our best clearance players and they are rookies. Not good for our midfield and development.

I wonder what the Beamer knockers will say if he does leave. I imagine his perceived inconsistencies, lack of intelligence and bullying excellence will all of a sudden look good and invaluable. Particularly when GC kick our butts

Then he is expendable on that basis. He needs to be aiming to be at least top 3.

He was not able to become our 4th or 5th best midfielder.

And no one has accused him of a lack of intelligence. Nice try on the melodrama though.

No team has traded with Essendon since the Salmon-Jarman-Lloyd deal, because they never offer anything of value in exchange, and waste other recruiters time with ridiculous offers.

And when they did trade with St Kilda they cleaned them up. Not that anyone could guess Lovett would play nil....

Selective reading there Rhino. A few 'not the sharpest tool comments' and lack of intelligent comments have occurred. But you choose to delete my post as in reference to these comments and pass it as abuse when it was obviously personal. Still reeling from the discussion regarding our past president.

Waiting for another delete

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
