Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

I can't help but feel if we traded him we'd see him go on to dominate for another club, then we get to spend the next five years looking like complete idiots. Then again it could prove to be another Travis trade. So glad I'm not the one who has to make these decisions.

Yeah, but maybe he needs that change, and we would be better off without him. It's a tough one, he is such a weapon... and a loose cannon.

I would expect that to happen but it wont happen here. I am expecting alot of clubs will see him that way hence pushing up his trade value. As long as we are adequately compensated it could likely be a win-win for both clubs.

Let him go please

I'd go against the flow here, and suggest he be kept on for at least another year. If he could just get in a full pre-season under Misson, and have another year under Neeld and co., perhaps the body and the head will get to where they need to be.

I'd be happy to make that decision.

I just think he'll never reach those heights for us anyway, so what's the point?

It's all dependant on the return, of course.

Yeah this, His injury was pretty severe and we never gave him full recovery, he can easily realise his potential under Misson

Credit to Col for his game last night from me. Yeah his numbers probably don't look great but from the stands his running intensity seemed way up on recent times, and he seemed more intent on having a real physical impact around the forward stoppages which should be his real strength. If we can get this from him every week it will make a massive difference to our team.

I personally still hope he can be a guy we can throw into the middle to have a real physical impact in those stoppages at important times in matches for years to come. To do that he needs to bring the intensity he brought last night.

Big game by Colin last night. Played his role trying to keep Fletcher out of play then turned it up with a couple of big plays and a great goal.

Maybe Col too has turned the corner.

one day col will realise he is the problem and not everyone else...

The only good thing about trading Col would mean Jack Viney could get his dad's number 12.

I was thinking the same thing - Jack would look great in #12, and already has shown in half a VFL match that he has more "application" than the current incumbent.

I'm hoping that the second half of the year will be huge for Col. Had a crap preseason - car crash, injured then breaks 2 vertebrae in his back. For mine it looks like he is starting to regain some fitness, some touch and a bit of desperation as showed by his pack busting goal. I actually have a bit of faith that he will be good for the rest of the year now

Agreed. Hard to lump him with Moloney as being two big letdowns this year when Colin's had a broken back. I think if Neeld can't get the best out of him then no one will. I'm predicting he plays out his career with us and realises his potential.

He irritates the crap out of me because he can do some brilliant things, when he chooses to.

If he wasn't so mentally deficient, he would be an A grader. FFS, nothing annoys me more than talented people who don't think they need to work hard.

i know this has been talked about a million times, but Col is now 26, been at the club since 2003, played a few blinder games a season but always goes missing when we need his talents to kick in. I have always been a fan of his but we can't have this anymore. Not at 26. Time to put him on the table and swap him. His inconsistenceys are exactly what the club does not need and im sure Neeld knows that.

At seasons end time to make big investments in some topline mids through both the draft and trade. Go hell for leather. Throw money at some awesome mids not really Cloke. That is where the game is won and lost always will be.

Our midfield has some good ones that will take us into the next decade, but we so desperatley need those complete package mids in our team.

Looking at Collingwood today there Big investments in Swan, Beams, Wellingham, Fasolo, Thomas, Blair whilst missing Ball and Pendlebury.

Even Richmond with Deledio, Cotchin, Martin, Foley and Grigg. Go Figure

I have to agree. But for God's sake can we drop Moloney before we drop Sylvia. At least Sylvia has had an interrupted pre-season. Moloney's got no excuse for his poor performances and apparently lacklustre efforts.

They will both be nervous come trade time at seasons end...

    TRAINING: Friday 19th April 2024

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
