Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Would have loved to be there for the Kooyong gig but I was only just born.

Anything from the 70's they did was awesome .Black and Blue included.

WHEN we win the flag in a coupla years we will have to play Sympathy a few times over for the after party.

yes. Between '68-'74 The Stones were right on top of it. And i agree about Black & Blue album which was used to find a new guitarist.

Some Girls is also a beauty.

It's why even today they pull a crowd even though Keith can hardly play anymore because of arthritis in his hands (claws)!!

I was at both the Kooyong and Randwick Racecourse concerts in support of the release of Exile on Main Street... at Randwick, they arrived at the stage in a big white horse drawn carriage, which was pretty funny; but despite the quality of those concerts, as far as best rock act/performance I've ever seen, they were outclassed (in my opinion) by The Clash at Sydney's Capitol Theatre during their Magnificent Seven tour.

Well here's a new show for all true 'Demons' ! A supernatural drama set in a grand building in NYC .

Terry O'Quinn from the show 'Lost' stars ... here's the IMDb link ... 666 Park Avenue

But just be careful what you wish for, because the price you pay... could be your soul. Welcome to The Drake, the premiere apartment building on Manhattan's Upper East Side.

I watched a couple of eps of "Yes Minister" last night.

Anyone who has not seen it. I strongly urge you to do so.

It was made in the 80's but the script & acting is as sharp and clever today as it was then.

Nothing in Politics changes very much.

Exile is the best complete album I've ever heard .You caught them at their Zenith .The Clash would have been good too .

YM is brilliant.

Get your hands on "The Thick of It", in the mold of YM, but a bit of acerbic. Look out of the Director of Comms Malcolm Tucker, a force to be reckoned with!

Its know YM, but pretty good all the same.

Brand new action drama from the UK called 'Hunted' . Stars Australia's own Melissa George . A little along the lines of the 'Bourne' concept and 'Nikita' . Here's the IMDb link ... Hunted

This is the story of a spy with a bull's-eye on her back, a human target unable to trust anyone at any time, even the man she loves. She is, quite literally, running for her life. Hunted is a smart, complex and contemporary spy series.

Just recently watched "my transsexual summer" with my girlfriend. I know you're probably like wtf but it's actually a really interesting show about 7 people in England who are transgender. A real eye-opener to how they serious think they were born the wrong sex, and how they deal with life. 1 of the guys who was born a woman looks seriously like a man, with the build and facial hair and all, while others just look like bad trannys with wigs ha.

There's SFA on at the moment.

I'm heartened by the fact that Arrested Development (not the rap group) will be back on our screens come May this year, one of the most underratted TV shows of last decade.

Tobias: Okay, Lindsay, are you forgetting that I was a professional twice over: an analyst and a therapist, the world’s first “analrapist.”

Priceless. Is the movie still due this year?

Haha. Tobias has got some of the best lines going on the show.

I read somewhere all 13 episodes will be released all at once an 'netflix', I'm not really across the techo side of things but I think they're a US online TV network. Can't get it here, so ill be looking out for avenues to obtain it, if you're keen I can give you a shout out when i find any info out.

But back to the original point, 13 episodes come out in may and then they're might be a movie after that, tying up all stories within the show. Good times ahead.

Oh yeah, I forgot about the new series. I'll take that over a movie anyday.

I was reading somewhere that the movie has yet to be confirmed and is still unlikely (particularly if they're tying up the story lines in the new series)

If I track down the series before you I'll let you know.

Just watched the first 2 episodes of The Walking Dead. Wow this show is graphic... need to get the whole first season in while the gf is away for the week.

I was a bit skeptical when I started watching the Walking Dead, but it didn't take long to get engrossed in the series.

3 seasons of gory goodness.

Came across what looks to be a decent new 'docudrama' series from the States.

'The Men Who Built America' starts tomorrow night (Monday) at 8.30pm on the 'History' channel.

Miniseries shines a spotlight on the influential builders, dreamers and believers whose feats transformed the United States, a nation decaying from the inside after the Civil War, into the greatest economic and technological superpower the world had ever seen. The Men Who Built America is the story of a nation at the crossroads and of the people who catapulted it to prosperity.

One to keep an eye out for ... 'The Americans.' ... heard some good reports about this brand new drama from the States.

Centers on Russian 'sleepers' operating in the United States in the 1980s. Set during the Cold War when relations between the Big Two are still ebbing and flowing, we are taken on an intriguing ride on the back of an American couple: Phillip (Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth Jennings (Keri Russell). It is an engrossing story, interspersed with great moments of tension, decadence, and charm

Fully 50% of why the show worked was the music. Whoever we should praise found more good music from the 80's than I remembered there being, and its presence in the show enhances the story. Great mind candy for the thinking person, with something to come back to after the first viewing. I credit the success of The Americans to 3 things: Great script, great music, and Matthew Rhys.

Have a new born so not watching a lot of TV at the moment, only show I'm really watching is Law & Order SVU, pretty rock solid show, rarely puts in a bad episode.

Late last year was watching A Moody Christmas on ABC, only 6 episodes, but was very good and good for a laugh, worth watching. I'm also hoping that ABC do a second season of Mad as Hell with Shaun Micallef, with it being an election year they'd be mad not to. Never misses an opportunity to take a stab at Tony Abbott does Mr Micallef, throws some good ones out there about Julia also in order to keep it all balances. hehe.

Other good shows worth a look are my personal favourite The Shield, seven seasons and probably the best cop show you're likely to see. The Big C (Lauara Linney and Oliver Platt) is a good drama also, seen the first two seasons of that now so will hopefully get a hold of season 3 shortly.

If you're after something more light hearted The Office always puts a smile on my face, coming up to their final season now I believe which will be season 9. Go Girls is a pretty good comedy/drama out of New Zealand which I got into when I was over there on my honeymoon. Also just watched season 1 of Parks & Recreation and that's pretty good also. The UK comedies Black Books and The Inbetweeners are hilarious! Inbetweeners is wrong, but if you're male and have gone through highschool is pretty much a running commentary on it IMO.

Otherwise if you want some real classics, you can't go past The Simpsons, seasons 1-13 (all the seasons after 13 suck), Seinfeld and The old Micallef Program (ABC).

Not sure if anyone has stumbled across "Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee" yet but it's a must view. I only came across it a couple of days ago and have watched ep4 (Alec Baldwin) and ep9 (Carl Reiner and Mel Brooks). The show stars Jerry Seinfeld and he brings along a "Classic car" for each show.

Wonderful comedy ,,, the humour is very quick and slick so it's easily revisited. 10 episodes in the 1st series and each episode goes for between 10 and 20 minutes. Youtube has all of the episodes up. (I believe)

Here's the Alec Baldwin bit ... Larry David, Whoopie Goldberg, Michael Richards and Ricky Gervais also feature in the other shows ...

    DISCO INFERNO by Whispering Jack

Two weeks ago, when the curtain came down on Melbourne’s game against the Brisbane Lions, the team trudged off the MCG looking tired and despondent at the end of a tough run of games played in quick succession. In the days that followed, the fans wanted answers about their team’s lamentable performance that night and foremost among their concerns was whether the loss was a one off result of fatigue or was it due to other factor(s) of far greater consequence.  As it turns out, the answer to

TIGERS PUNT CASEY by KC from Casey

The afternoon atmosphere at the Swinburne Centre was somewhat surreal as the game between Richmond VFL and the Casey Demons unfolded on what was really a normal work day for most Melburnians. The Yarra Park precinct marched to the rhythm of city life, the trains rolled by, pedestrians walked by with their dogs and the traffic on Punt Road and Brunton Avenue swirled past while inside the arena, a football battle ensued. And what a battle it was? The Tigers came in with a record of two wins f

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

    OOZEE by The Oracle

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh
