Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

Sheedy threatens Critics

Kevin Sheedy fumes at Greater Western Sydney critics

Kevin Sheedy has gone troppo up in balmy Rooty Hill and is now threatening retribution if anyone dares to criticise his rabble of an organisation.

"So, (the critics) can just keep going. I will get all the newspaper articles, all the TV clips and listen to all the comments, and file them away. I would say to them, 'Don't smack the baby Giant in the cot too hard, otherwise it will grow up grumpy'.

"Every person who keeps chipping away at us, we will be having a look at their uncontracted players next year, so they should be edgy and nervous."

Perhaps he should be the one concerned, because after 2 years all his players, apart from Judas, will be coming out of contract and if the club continues to operate the way it is the Mutiny could make the Bounty look like a blip.

His comments can only be seen as tacit acknowledgement that they are stuffing things up.

The "Lunatics are running the asylum" up there .

Apart from being non competitive with pitifully low crowds ( get ready for some questionable figures ) the Sydney media will also use this mob as the butt of their jokes .

It's has taken years for the Swans to be accepted and there is still a fair bit of anti AFL sentiment in Sydney so when GW$ lose all the time ...................

Of course , the AFL will continue to pour tens of millions into this "basket case" and keep "it" alive .

Such a waste , and if they had of poured the same "obscene" amount of money into a Tassie Team ............................

"What goes around , comes around" , so you can bet there are plenty of Clubs that will be eyeing off all their prime draft picks when they come out of contract .

The "Rules of engagement" have changed - from now on it's "open slather !" ( apologies for all the cliches ! )

When he says things like this(fortnightly), it leaves me pretty confident he headhunted Scully out of some wierd personal Vendetta.

He's said before he didnt like the Media coverage he dealt with when going for the Melbourne job and i imagine a Giant ego like his would have been crushed after missing out on the job.

And to think that a certain T$ actually chose to play under this demented maniac!

Most of his teamates will have been forced to go there...but he cho$e to go!

But it wa$n't the money of course, it was the great facilities....and now it turms out that there are plenty of cheap falafels for his dad to devour too.

Hope he enjoys it, and thinks that it is all worth it.

Who is Sheedy actually attacking?? It was he who said a few weeks ago that all Victorian clubs should get stuck into Fremantle and raid their players...Who has actually had a go at GW$?

Most amusing....

No one officially that I have seen. He's completely paranoid.

The AFL would have been better off getting Warwick Capper to front GWS. Just as nuts but at least people in Sydney know who he is.

It's such a stupid comment too.

"Don't smack the baby giant, because then it will grow up grumpy"??

So... I take it, if no one criticises them now, instead in 6 years' time they will be politely letting other teams beat them?

Honestly!

Their aim is to "grow up grumpy" irrespective of how they are treated in their infancy.

It's just more rambling from an old bloke who has lost the plot, but still gets far too much airtime.

"Every person who keeps chipping away at us, we will be having a look at their uncontracted players next year, so they should be edgy and nervous."

Ha. If they were thorough and smart enough in recruiting, the "looking at the uncontracted players" should have already have been done pretty much anyway by touching base with uncontracted prospects.

Either that or KS is a snag short of a BBQ.

It's interesting to note that when he threatens that they'll be looking at other clubs uncontracted players to poach, their history this year suggests that the main club that should be afraid is their older sibling, Gold Coast. They will have half their young talented list coming out of their first 2 year contracts and seeing as GWS are willing to spend massive overs on kids with potential, I'd put money on GWS having a massive crack at some of the Suns young talent. Luckily for us, the pain of expansion is over.

He is not really talking to us. He is talking to all the falafel munchers who might consider being at all interested in GW$. In essence, "We are going to be big and tough", "we are going to be successful", "We will get lots of stars from other clubs". <Yawn>. Old K$ is doing what he is supposed to do - be the Barnham brothers and spruik the circus to the average punters to see if he can get them through the door.

Too bad when they get there the product will be shite.

If it walks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, then it is probably Kevin Sheedy

I've said it before......Reminds me of some embarassing great uncle.... you know the sort, showing the signs of advancing age, thinks that because they've been around for a long time that people should listen (and value) what they say..... despite the fact that half of it is indecipherable and the rest is irrelevant, wrong or a generation out of date.

Is this thread serious? Sheedy is playing a game to get publicity, trying to get people talking about GWS, trying to create media coverage and trying to manufacture rivalries.

The Gws model of building the list is much smarter than the Suns. Suns big names will be past their best when they are playing in grand finals, GWS recruits will be in their prime.

He has a vendetta against MFC? Some posters are seriously paranoid and have been sucked in hook line and sinker.

    GAMEDAY: Rd 07 vs Richmond

It's Game Day and the Demons once again open the round of football with their annual clash against Richmond on ANZAC Eve. The Tigers, coached by former Dees champion and Premiership assistant coach Adem Yze have a plethora of stars missing due to injury but beware the wounded Tiger. The Dees will have to be switched on tonight. A win will keep them in the hunt for the Top 4 whilst a loss could see them fall out of the 8 for the first time since 2020.

There’s a touch of irony in the fact that Adem Yze played his first game for Melbourne in Round 13, 1995 against the club he now coaches. For that game, he wore the number 44 guernsey and got six touches in a game the team won by 11 points.  The man whose first name was often misspelled, soon changed to the number 13 and it turned out lucky for him. He became a highly revered Demon with a record of 271 games during which his presence was acknowledged by the fans with the chant of “Oozee” wh

They are out for a run just as it starts raining. It didn't last long, ended up a reasonable session weather wise.  Light duties, BBB, rehab Farris-White, Melky, Salem and Spargo, all with private trainers. They are all playing soccer, huge amount of noise. 36-40 (difficult to get a count) in the main squad, biggest I've seen it in ages. Choco is barking out the orders. Goody has intense body language as he observes. Bowey in a lime green cap (no contact), and in the sim

    ICEBREAKER by KC from Casey

The Casey Demons have broken the ice for season 2024 with a pulsating come-from-behind victory over Port Melbourne in which it took the lead for the first time at the halfway mark of the final quarter. The game played in mild Autumn conditions in neutral territory at Kinetic Park, Frankston, never reached great heights in standard but it proved gripping in character at the end at the Casey Demons overcame the Borough to win by 15 points after trailing badly early in the second half.  P

    MAULED by Whispering Jack

The writing was on the wall from the very first bounce of the football. The big men went up, Max Gawn more often than not, decisively won the ruck hit out and invariably a Brisbane Lions onballer either won the battle on the ground or halved the contest and they went at it repeatedly until they finally won out. Melbourne managed the first goal from Alex Neal-Bullen but after that the visitors shut out every area of Demon presence around the ground except in the ruck duels. It was a mauling.
