Trackie Dacks seems to have a reprieve for at least a week or two.

By the same token the club is looking after the clubs interest and i have no problem with the club telling a player that his career is done and dusted. Trouble is - so many players really dont want hear or accept those words

You're right and there lies the conundrum - how do come to an amicable end ? Esp with so much money in the game now - I know if I was a player I wouldn't want it to end but if somebody like Barassi or Stynes sat me down then ..............................

The only player i have had a problem with the method of their removal was Jnr - i think the decision was right but Bailey said they could have handled it better by letting him know earlier. But it is always difficult situation and when is the right time to tell them ?

Isn't it funny that all of these supposed "ugly exits" occurred with a bunch of players that copped such an easy ride for so long under their best mate Danners

All of these blokes held us over a barrell at contract time, all threatened to leave, all signed at the death knell during trade week, after "....seriously considering an alternative"

All underachieved for the MFC (no doubt they had good careers but they were paid immensely well to do this, far more than some genuine stars of the game)

All couldn't see their time was up, as evidenced by White, Yze, Robbo etc. nominating for the draft

TJ copped it easy for so long from the club, then had a parting shot after he was traded out

I don't think this was Bailey's doing, this was a lingering problem from Danners era - all players who played the majority of their career under him

Junior was told (as far as my understanding) early in the year he wouldn't be getting a contract, then played some reasonable football therefore expected he would

He didn't

His time was up too

That is for now- still has to hold on foranother 6 weeks. Two more chances the Hawks have to get rid of him before final list for 2012.

And what chances are those? You are very bitter about Bruce leaving aren't you? I'd say, no chance.

Don't know if he is 'no chance' - we still have one deletion to make to be eligible for the draft. Clubs will continue to make list changes during the next month.

Bobby, I feel the need to ask this and ask this only once I will. But have you at any time engaged in any form of sexual activity with the former Melbourne number 32, either in person or through some kind of auto-erotic method?

Haha!! I have thought this for awhile, but it took the great Yoda to write it down!!

I am still waiting to hear from Hazy as to the MFC generating $40 Mill of business next year. Will he acknowledge finally that the previous board were existing out of their league? Hazy hath been so quiet

Yeah, we used to play handys at kindy! You are rather [censored] Yoda aren't you? LOL.

Making a statement like that, I'd say you don't have a great understanding of AFL list lodgements.

Stop baiting, WYL.

And I sure am hopeful we can pay for this growth...

But that is just the syndrome talking.

What exactly should the club do when ending a career? I am sure no one likes doing it, But when a career is over, it's over...Doing it "nicely" can often just prolong what needs to be done.

How should the MFC have broken the news to JMac? (not being nasty here, i am interested on how people would have done it)

I know Bails was upset with how JMac left us, but i don't know what else you do.

face it Bailey was a terrible coach, all the players said they loved him but I reckon there would be a few who didn't, he made some team demoralising decisions and thats why players didn't play for him, there has to be a reason why they chucked the towel in so early in games and got thrashed and that is lack of motivation by the coaching staff. That is the main reason most of the coaching staff has gone. They will be a different team next year, not saying they will make top 4 or even 8 but they will play out games to the end.

I'll take that as a yes then.

Wrong with that ... not that there anything is, Bob.

Don't worry Bobby Mac - there's a lot that feel the same way as you and I ( Re Cam Bruce ! )

They're just steering clear of this thread - hiding to nothing material ,

Reckon some here are just pure opportunists - ya know , the stronger suit bit .

Cheers .

You can take that as a No then. You ask Len Dockett he will tell you that it is simply not true

Looking at your last sentence if one can call it that, English must surely be your second language!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
