Discussion on recent allegations about the use of illicit drugs in football is forbidden
  • IMPORTANT: PLEASE READ BEFORE POSTING

Posting unsubstantiated rumours on this website is strictly forbidden.

Demonland has made the difficult decision to not permit this platform to be used to discuss & debate the off-field issues relating to the Melbourne Football Club including matters currently being litigated between the Club & former Board members, board elections, the issue of illicit drugs in footy, the culture at the club & the personal issues & allegations against some of our players & officials ...

We do not take these issues & this decision lightly & of course we believe that these serious matters affecting the club we love & are so passionate about are worthy of discussion & debate & I wish we could provide a place where these matters can be discussed in a civil & respectful manner.

However these discussions unfortunately invariably devolve into areas that may be defamatory, libelous, spread unsubstantiated rumours & can effect the mental health of those involved. Even discussion & debate of known facts or media reports can lead to finger pointing, blame & personal attacks.

The repercussion is that these discussions can open this website, it’s owners & it’s users to legal action & may result in this website being forced to shutdown.

Our moderating team are all volunteers & cannot moderate the forum 24/7 & as a consequence problematic content that contravenes our rules & standards may go unnoticed for some time before it can be removed.

We reserve the right to delete posts that offend against our above policy & indeed, to ban posters who are repeat offenders or who breach our code of conduct.

WE HAVE BUILT A FANTASTIC ONLINE COMMUNITY AT DEMONLAND OVER THE PAST 23 YEARS & WE WOULD LIKE TO CONTINUE TO BE ABLE TO DISCUSS THE CLUB WE LOVE & ARE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT.

Thank you for your continued support & understanding. Go Dees.

We've got to turn some players over - Scully makes one, but we need at least 2 more vacancies, maybe more if we trade someone in to filla "gap", which I hope we do.

Warnock, Maric, Macdonald, Wonna - all out of contract. Bate in contract but looking for a trade. In all probability at least 3 of them wont be on our list next year.

Out of those five players i'd keep Maric and Aussie....

As you said Scully makes one - Warnock wants out and we're happy to oblige, that's two.

I could easily see Wonna being delisted and then picked up as a rookie. Bate wants to go and it looks like we'll be happy to accommodate if an offer can be made. That's 4 spots and probably enough for this year. We can upgrade Nicholson to the senior list leaving 3 more spots being pick 12, 36 (or whatever our second pick is) and maybe get a player in for Bate or Warnock (Lisle?). That's probably all I'd do for now given the shallow draft pool and given there's no other rookies I'd be too keen to upgrade (possibly Evans?) unless there's another player they have in mind for a trade.

Question - does anyone know if we happen to land Crouch (or O'Meara however unlikely) do they take a spot on our senior list next year? Or do they come on for the 2013 season?

Cant find any mention of him anywhere else.

Are we interested in Alan Toovey? 24. 189cm 89kg. Apparantly hard at it, but disposal, although improving, could be a concern.

Any thoughts?

Also could be very cheap.

Can someone please tell me which players in the AFL have "elite" disposal, that run at 90% efficiency or better. And of all these players that have elite disposal, which of them are up for a potential trade.

Every bloody player mentioned as a trade possibility has disposal concerns. Surely the AFL can't be full of blokes that can't kick or handball???!!! Or is it that maybe the 70-75% efficiency rate is quite the standard (which mean a lot of pur blokes, including Jones and Bartram, are well within industry standard?).

Im pretty sure 80% is quite good, above that is "elite", 90% is huge

non will be on the market

Thanks Jordie. My point is that almost every player has flaws in their game, heck, even Chris Judd is only around the 73% efficiency or something. People's expectation of having all these players on our list with elite everything is totally unrealistic. No team has had it, and I'm doubtful that any will (especially with the game played at the pace it is).

Where we need to tidy things up is making sure that of the 75% of our efficient disposals are dangerous. This can be done.

Toovey is a very good footballer, but the only reason I wouldn't pick him up would be because of his price tag. His disposal, while not 100% efficient, is not an issue. But, I feel that way about Jones, and to some extent Bartram, which is against what is written in teh Code of Conduct for this site!

The latest seems to be some 4 way deal involving Clarke to freo, Jaegar to GWS, Crouch to Adelaide and Gunston to Hawthorn....... AFL not sure about GWS ending up with Jaegar though

Adelaide may be after Ben Kennedy of SA in the mini draft

So what does Brisbane get, you need a five way deal to make this work

GWS looking to keep O'Meara has severely [censored] me off.... i wanted Crouch but this opens the market back up to GC ect.....really unhappy

Don't stress, GWS can't keep O'Meara as they don't have him. They are selling tickets to a mini-draft they can't participate in.

Very keen on Crouch but hoping too much isn't given up for his services (hopefully not both compensation picks). Viney and Crouch dominating at Casey next year would be a sight to see.

AFL have said they don't like it, but haven't said no to it yet. It appears that if o'meara goes through other hands first they can get him back. By the rules anyway.

Kind of funny in a way . The AFL was happy enough if other clubs got dudded provided it was in line with Vlads grand scheme but Vlad doesn't like it when the same underhandedness is played against Vlad himself.

Got to begrudgingly admire the Dwarves.... they're bloody crafty lol ;)

So what does Brisbane get, you need a five way deal to make this work

Adelaide pick 10 to freo

Freo pick 10 to brisbane

Clarke to Brsbane

Adelaide Gunston to Hawthron

GWS pick 2 to Adelaide i think

Hawthorn ??? > ????presumably Adelaide

GWS pick 1 (O'Meara) to Adelaide then directly returned to GWS

Something like this, was mentioned on Trade week radio,

more so that these teams are involved with each other in big trade, with Freo wanting Clarke, Hawthorn wanting Gunston, GWS wanting to keep O'Meara and Adelaide seeing and opportunity to gain something from the Gunston situation and Brisbane actually getting something of worth for Clarke

This is how i understood it and see it

anyone else catch this?

Got most of the following information from this bigfooty thread.

http://www.bigfooty....ad.php?t=880046

196cm 96kg KPF.

Slid to pick 50 in 2008 (Watts Draft)

Played both defense and forward as a youngster. Has huge mits and can take a mark. Has not had much opportunity at the Hawks behind Franklin and Roughead.

Was pretty disappointing in his afl games, but was apparently nervous and usually plays very well at Box Hill.

Rumor - Has not been offered for trade but has been inquired about by a few clubs.

One of those guys who would be worth more to his club than he would get as a trade.

    DEPTH CHARGE by Whispering Jack

The jubilation on the coach’s face as he danced a celebratory jig by the playing bench after the final siren sounded to record his team’s four-point victory over the Demons when the teams last met, said it all.    On that rainy Friday night at the Adelaide Oval, Ken Hinkley’s young midfield secured much more than four points on offer. The victory over one of the big dogs of the competition after a succession of wins over some of its lesser lights gave his team respect and validation fo

    HIBERNATING by KC from Casey

When they locked up the rooms for summer at the end of last year’s football season, the rooms gathered cobwebs, the atmosphere became dense and the place developed a sleepy feel. They opened up the rooms to let Casey out to play on Sunday but the team was still hibernating and they missed the bulk of the opening quarter. By the time they worked out it was game on, their opponents from Box Hill had accumulated five goals and, if the game wasn’t over, it might as well have been. For a se

A FORK IN THE HAWK by George on the Outer

For too long in the past, Demon fans became habitually sick and tired of watching the Hawks hand out thrashings to their side. But Melbourne’s empahtic 55-point win at the MCG on Saturday has truly put a fork in the Hawk and turned that history well and truly on its head. The Demons have now won nine of their last ten encounters with the other result, a draw.     And like a fork, it was the multi-pronged options that Melbourne had all across the ground.  It certainly helped that Hawthorn
