A lot of other names been thrown around, but wondering if anyone else gives Choco any chance at the Melbourne job. I'm not ruling him out, and frankly, I reckon he's better than any other other options (ignoring the contracted options).

He's a premiership coach

He's working under the most experienced coach of all time. People will say Sheedy is past the game, but you can't deny he's smart, and a motivator. Skills which I believe will be crucial to the coaching job, which I think Williams already had, but will be enhanced through his work there.

Sheedy already said he wouldn't stop him going.

He's already spent a year specifically working with young players development.

anyone else as keen as me?

Not really sure how i feel about it to be honest...

Wouldn't be annoyed or angry about it....

He does have the credentials...

Just think that he is at GWS long term...

Am sure he is on decent money there as well..

I think the reality is that Williams will be the coach of GWS, and Sheedy will be a figure head for marketing. So no chance of getting a Senior coach to leave a club before his first year has started.

agree 100% I think Choco would be well worth looking at, He has experience & passion, with respect to any assistant coaches in the running I would much prefer someone that has done it before.

Just throwing this out there for whats it worth, has anyone from the Melbourne Football Club given Mark "Bomber "Thomson any thought

Forgetting all the obvious problems he is a proven premiership coach and really isnt on the radar of other clubs . I know his feelings towards Essendon but as I said one from left field to possibly at least think about maybe at least ask the question?

LOL are you Adam from Twitter?

He's head of my list of other experienced candidates, closely followed by Roos (laidley, Thompson, Matthews etc). Mainly because I can't think of any good reason why he wouldn't be a good coach for the club, and the fact that his position means he is coaching still, but not in the official position quite yet.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
