Firstly I want to touch on Dean Bailey. A good coach who's brave decisions became his undoing. The chop of McDonald and to an extent Bruce were first signs for me his vision for the club was flawed and too fixed. Respect to Dean though for recognising the clubs list needed a rebuilding phase.

Stability in any organisation is key to meeting organisational goals. The Melbourne Football Club have a president away from the club most of the time, a CEO who previously spent $80,000 on a desk at the club under pressure for various reasons and a leadership group doing nothing of that. Stability is lacking in every area of our club. Jim Stynes should of stepped down permanently as soon as he couldn't continue to complete presidency duties on a day to day basis. In December of 2010, my information is that Jim put it on himself to personally oversee the coaching of Bailey with the view of making a recommendation to the board regarding a new contract for Dean moving forward. There are two problems with this. Battling illness, Jim isn't in any position to perform reviews to the standard required and if Chris Connolly isn't the man to oversee the coach, how/why is he still required? Surely this is his job.

And as touched on by Leigh Matthew's. I don't understand the club's need to bring in Lyon. If the Board of Directors, CEO and Football Manager are making the wrong decisions then change needs to be made. Bringing a primarily media mogul in on a consultive basis isn't the answer long-term. I have fears for club.

OK you have had your say.....Who cares what Leigh Matthews says he is outside the workings of the club.

What about if G. Lyon does a great job straitening out the place...What will the media write then?

Give him a go at doing what he thinks is right.

Good luck to him. Has he got the bollocks to get rid of anyone? Probably not.

Only one way to find out Danny.

If anyone needs "to go" i am sure they will be dealt with...G. Lyon Captained this club, i think he wants to see the joint rise.

Just give him a chance...Feel free to write this stuff next year, if you can see plainly nothing was done.

Like i said last week..If Garry had declined to help Jim at this time DEMONLAND would have gone into meltdown.

What Jim says goes buddy and what Leigh says means very little unless of course hes interested in some sort of role at MFC, Until then what Jim says goes.

What Garry says goes as long as Jim OK,s it.

80,000 for a desk, that cant be true.

Where would you even find a desk that expensive

Ah yes ... the innuendos and lies spread.

Germany's propaganda minister during the war was Joseph Goebbels. His policy was that if you repeat a lie often enough the ordinary punter would believe it. There have been lots of unsubstantiated stories about CS. Now it's the $80k desk. Next week it's going to be the fact that he kept a dozen concubines holed up in an office near the Long Room.

I agree with this

FFS

People get a grip.

These stories are becoming more and more ridiculous!!!

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
