Today's news in the the Hun is shattering.

At the moment I have but one wish, Jimmy gets better.

Heartbreaking news. Keep fighting Jim, you don't deserve this. It makes the stuff at the footy club seem so insignificant.

Get well Jim, an inspirational man on and off the football field. Through the darkest times in recent years, you have been a beacon of hope. Your commitment to this club through a time of personal hardship has been unheralded. Your fighting spirit embodies everything this club can only hope to be in the future; a future that would have been all but impossible without you.

Focus on getting yourself well Jim. You have gone far beyond what anybody could have asked.

Well its been a crap week at the footy club and now this just makes it worse. Jim seriously I know the club gives you something to focus on and take your mind of your battle but you dont need this stress. Its a shame the players dont play with the same fight and courage you do.

Hopefully this one can be removed and at least it isnt another tumour on the brain. Thoughts are with you and your family.

Absolutely heartbreaking news today. I guess we all know the direction this horrible story is taking, but don't want to see the truth. All of us, our thoughts and our prayers are with you big man. Be selfish for once in your life and look after yourself and your family first.

Jim...you have an adoring wife and loving kids. Time to leave Melbourne to its fate and comsider your own health and family.

Thanks mate, but time to look after yourselves !!

Terrible, terrible news.

Poor Bugger he is a true battler hyopefully the club can get up for him this weekend.

it's just a football club. it's survived highs and lows for more than 150 years. it's time to look after yourself and your family, and not worry about, in the grand scheme of things, trivial s#it like this week.

I am so sad about this.

I hope those inside the MFC take a good hard look at the last few months....It sure hasn't helped Jimmy in his fight

Now grow up the lot of you, and function like a Club...Give Stynesy some energy FFS.

Don't let last monday be the last time Jimmy was seen.

What a week!!!

Could not agree more.

Makes me sick to the core.

I know it's (footy) is only a game, but as a Melbourne supporter this has been one helluva week, for all the wrong reasons...

Big Jim has put so much time, effort, energy and emotion into the MFC. If there's one thing that will put a smile on his face at the moment, it's the players coming out on the w/e and making a serious statement. How they go about it, I really don't care, so long as the 'footy world' is left stunned.

My thoughts are with Jimmy and his family.

Spot on...........the bickering and infighting that has been going on while poor old Jimmy fights for his life is deplorable.

Keep fighting Jim!

Gotta wonder (and the point has been made by journos too before you call me a cold bastard) whether the footy club is literally killing him. The stress, especially of last weekend...

Posted

This really puts life & all things into perspective. He has been through so much & more is still to come. Get well Jim, the club needs to sort itself out for your sake if anything. Have a hard look at yourselves MFC!

Jimmy,

You are, and will always be an absolute legend of our club. It is absolutely inspirational stuff that you continue to fight for our club, whilst continually battling for your own life. Impossible to describe how great you truly are.

For no-one else but yourself and your family, we hope to see you back on top again soon.

Absolutely. Our thoughts are with Jim, Sam and the family, the MFC will be fine.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
