I am reading "Power without Glory" right now....superb read it is to.

Good story, but the book rambles on a bit.

It definitely put the Carringbush in a new light for me.

I like Eddie. He has the passion and urgency that is desperately needed at the club. Stynes can only do so much. He's a business man and I admire him for turning Collingwood into what they are. I can put aside my support for Melbourne and admit that.

He's doing what any loyal, dedicated, hard-blooded President would do. It's completely within his right to say these things.

Like him or not. Eddie is an excellent president for his own company...We need something similiar. If the filth are pumping $85 mill a year, and we are at $35 Mill, there's the answer.

reading between the lines...if we get Mick, we can say goodbye to Queens Birthday...

Why? Collingwood dont make the draw the AFL does...... Actually, sorry, my mistake.

After reading Carlos article in the AGE I feel we are in very deep trouble. Scully is surely gone, and we will struggle to keep several other players. The players are ve3ry unhappy. We only have one hope and that is to take on a highly regarded, experienced coach preferably Malthouse, and if not Roos, Eade or Willam's and give them absolute power over the Football department. We should be prepared to pay big for the right person. Renege on giving Schwab an extra year and show Connolly the door as well. The new head coach should have significant say on who runs the administration side of the club as well. The administration side of the club should be seen but not heard when it comes to the management of the football department.

I donated large amounts of money in the recent debt demolition as I love the club and saw the light at the end of the tunnel. I am absolutely devastated with what have clearly become major issues inside our club that have spilt over to the football department. I feel ripped off. I did not make significant donations to see this sort of mass incompetence less than 2 years later.

My heart bleeds. We are doing our best job of wrecking our opportunity.

Bear in mind that Eddie actually poached Mick from the Weagles when he was contracted to them. Not at all hypocritical there, right?

Eddie shapes, manipulates and talks absolute bullsh1* to suit himself. He would have to be one of the biggest hypocrites of all time and has the biggest ego ive ever seen! What goes around comes around Eddie.

But what about the 'inducement to breach contract' crap that Eddie was talking about. Can OP shed some light?

Yeah, like Wellman had a year on his contractto run but was poached by the Bummers.

Malthouse can get out of it if he wants. Restraint of trade for a start.

In the unlikely event we snag Malthouse, I would love to see look on Eddie's face...

You'd have to be quick before it explodes.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
