Attention: MFC Reserved Seat Holders.

Just been advised by the club that there it will cost $17 extra to reserve a seat at Etihad on August 14th match against West Coast.

For this match you can either choose to upgrade to a reserved seat on the wing of level one or you can enter on your membership card and sit in general admission on level one near the goals.

The upgrade prices are:

Adult - $17

Junior - $9.

Level 2 is not available to Melbourne members so it will only be level one seating for this match.

What's the use of buying an 11 game Redleg Reserved Seat package if it only allows you reserved seating in Melbourne for 9 games.

The viewing at Etihad on Levels 1 and 3 is pathetic compared to Level 2 at the MCG or Etihad.

Legends Members have been asked to advise the club if they are going to the game and if they are the club will pay for the upgrade.

I'm sure it's not 100% the club's fault. But it stinks, I'm sure my membership wasn't reduced by the cost of a level 2 reserved seat at the G for one match when I paid for it. I'm sure I've had a reserved seat on lv 1 at Etihad for home games in th past. Away games I'm happy to upgrade and pay the difference for lv 2 at Etihad so I don't think I'm stingy,

I am furious we're playing a home game there to begin with. I actually think WC plays more games there than us this year. Where's the home ground advantage?

Agree...Etihad is absolute s**te. Bulldoze it tomorrow... couldn't happen fast enough.

Whatever happened to the idea of an AFL stand-alone stadium in the North Melbourne rail/industrial precinct. This was floated a couple of years back but nothing appears to have happened since.

There's currently a MCC (Melbourne City Council) masterplan for that whole area in terms of residential development but the proposal of an AFL owned ground seems to have slipped off the radar. Anyone interested can access the plan through the MCC website.

I am absolutely filthy about this, it was bad enough we have to have a home game at this joint but now we have to pay for something that our membership's entitled to?!

Are we going to get a make up game at the G much like we do for Darwin? Because that's how I feel like we're being treated. Screw you ES, never going there again for an away game (and we should never play another home game there).

Does anyone know Angry Anderson or Placido Dimitrio's email address so we can vent our spleen ?

I Prefer Rage Against The Machine Myself...

Level 3 on the wing is actually a pretty good spot to watch the footy at Etihad, IMO. Would willingly sit there ahead of level 1. Given it's going to be a rubbish crowd, should be no problems finding a good seat up there.

Pity we will lose like always though.

Posted

Not happy about it! Reserved seat memberships are not cheap, and we shouldn't have to fork out any extra for Shitihad stadium.

I will just go and sit somewhere random and maybe bump into some of the characters on demonland.

Oh, just re-read the OP, we can sit in GA behind the goals o level 1? I thought they stopped the GA level 1 a few years ago. Unless we've requested level 3 to be closed, which could make sense. I think 20,000 will see the crowd out.

I don't know whats more popular Etihad or the carbon tax.

Posted

Just received an email from the club, Level 3 will not be opened, GA is on Level 1. So the pockets on Level 1 will be packed with the wing set aside for reserved seat holders who don't actually get a reserved seat at this game unless they're willing to part with $17.

I don't like going there either but we have to play our share of games there.

The game is against the weagles and the crowd will be low.

It is the world we live in and it is vital that the MFC do not lose money so pay up and shut up.

if we won there on a regular basis would we all care? No

The reason we have not won there is simple we have not been good enough.

Win the game and all the problems fade away.

If we beat the weagles I will walk away happy.

UP IN LIGHTS by Whispering Jack

Those who watched the 2024 Marsh AFL National Championships closely this year would not be particularly surprised that Melbourne selected Victoria Country pair Harvey Langford and Xavier Lindsay on the first night of the AFL National Draft. The two left-footed midfielders are as different as chalk and cheese but they had similar impacts in their Coates Talent League teams and in the National Championships in 2024. Their interstate side was edged out at the very end of the tournament for tea
